Job description

Job Summary:
Shift Manager is responsible for the operation of the cashier cage and player services during assigned shift

Essential Duties And Responsibilities:
Ensures the efficient operation of the casino cage and maintains the integrity and security of cash and chips on deposit in the cage.

Ensures proper compliance with established internal control procedures and government-specified regulation.

Ensures compliance with Title 31 of the Bank Secrecy Act as it relates to currency reporting.

Restricts access to the cage to authorized personnel.

Accepts currency count from the slot count team and secures for deposit.

Maintain custody of all gaming chips, coins, currency, patrons' checks, forms and records relating to the casino cage, pit and slot cashiering operations.

Ensures data integrity in regards to what Player Service Representatives input into the Casino Management System.

Maintains relationships with known players and develop relationships with potential players.

Monitors the promotions on the gaming floor, through the online player tracking system and tracking its success.

Ensures proper staffing and scheduling to meet business demands.

Establish self as a highly credible leader with highest level of integrity while always acting in the best interests of the property and the company.

Performs other job related duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Requires strong leadership and motivational skills. Will interact with various levels of staff, management, government officials, and the public.

Maintains staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training team members; maintaining a safe, secure, and legal work environment; developing personal growth opportunities.

Accomplishes staff results by communicating job expectations; grooming standards, planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining team members; developing, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, procedures, and productivity standards.

Qualifications:
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive information. Ability to work with large sums of cash and possess a strong sense of security and asset protection. Superior math, financial, and accounting skills required. Ability to read and analyze information detailing assets. In-depth knowledge of advertising, promotions, entertainment design, special events, direct mail, players tracking and public contract. Team leader and innovator relating to marketing and cash operations concepts. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of classified information. Knowledge of accounting, financial and operating controls is required. Skill in the use of PC and related software applications. Competent in the use of computer spreadsheets, database and mainframe applications in a Windows environment. Knowledge of federal, state and Tribal gaming laws. Ability to understand and process complex paperwork. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to tactfully and diplomatically interact with the public and staff. Must possess excellent business sense and high professional ethics. Must possess a high regard for guest service and team member relations, with the ability to perform in fast paced and goal oriented environment.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

High School Diploma or GED required. Bachelor's Degree and three (3) to five (5) years' experience in cash operations and marketing procedures preferred. Experience with a rewards card program preferred.

LICENSES, CERTIFICATES, REGISTRATION:

Must undergo and successfully pass a background investigation to obtain and maintain a gaming license issued by the Morongo Gaming Agency.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Exceptional reading, writing and public speaking skills are important to the successful conduct of this position. Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical reports, general business periodicals, professional journals or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports and business correspondence.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, rates, ratio, proportions and percentages.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form. Ability to apply legal, regulatory and procedure doctrine, concepts and policy to practical situations. Ability to solve problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; talk or hear; and taste or smell. The team member frequently is required to walk and reach with hands and arms. The team member is occasionally required to sit. The team member must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This is a fast paced work environment and the position requires the ability to cope with it. The casino environment has moderate to loud noise levels and is a smoking environment.

WORKING HOURS:

Because we are open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, most positions require flexibility in scheduling and may require team members be available for evenings, weekends, holidays and special events. A typical workweek and normal work schedules may vary based on business needs and may include scheduled shifts Monday through Sunday. Position may require overtime.
