Job description

Job Summary:
Supervise the Slot Technician staff on the floor during assigned shift to ensure smooth operation of slot machines and other gaming devices with minimal down time.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities:
Train and supervise Slot Technicians in the routine service & maintenance of slot machines and related cash-handling equipment in a fast paced environment.

Train and supervise Slot Technicians in the removal and installation of slot components including bill and coin acceptors, cash-out printers, card readers/writers, touch-screen displays, motherboard and related electrical or mechanical components.

Train and supervise Slot Technicians to ensure that all slot machines are secure and tamper proof through the use of alarm systems and anti-cheating devices.

Train Slot Technicians in troubleshooting analysis including integrated diagnostics functions, multi-meter tests, and Sencore Oscilloscope.

Identifies slot cheaters or slot mechanics working in an unethical manner and deals with them according to departmental policy and in cooperation with casino services.

Works to reduce accident costs by maintaining a safe, hazard free department, and ensuring all accidents are immediately reported and reports completed.

Performs other job related duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Requires strong leadership and motivational skills. Will interact with various levels of staff, management, government officials, and the public.

Maintains staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training team members; maintaining a safe, secure, and legal work environment; developing personal growth opportunities.

Accomplishes staff results by communicating job expectations; grooming standards, planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining team members; developing, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, procedures, and productivity standards.

Qualifications:
Knowledge of a variety of class III and class II games is essential. Understanding of coin-in and player development data management systems is helpful; proficiency with office software applications is required. Extensive knowledge of electronics theory, multi-testers, schematics and troubleshooting analysis are required. Experience with metal fabrication and design is beneficial. Must have discretion to maintain strict confidentiality of classified information. Must be competent with various PC based software programs. Must possess excellent business sense and high professional ethics. Ideal candidate will have excellent guest service demeanor and be able to lead coworkers by example.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

High School Diploma or GED required. AS in electronics plus 2 years experience as a floor or shop technician is required. Equivalent practical experience or a BS in Electronics may provide suitable expertise. Previous supervisory experience is preferred. Knowledge of basic shop operations including safety is required.

LICENSES, CERTIFICATES, REGISTRATIONS:

Must undergo and successfully pass a background investigation to obtain and maintain a gaming license issued by the Morongo Gaming Agency.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Exceptional interpersonal communication skills are key to success in this position. Must be fluent in English including reading, writing and speaking. Must have the ability to read, analyze and interpret technical reports, as well as to clearly write reports and business correspondence.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, decimals, ratios and percentages.

REASONING ABILITY:

Verbal reasoning ability is key, as are the abilities to troubleshoot and diagnose machine faults. Must have the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form. Should have the ability to apply legal, regulatory and procedure doctrine, concepts and policy to practical situations.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to stand, frequently required to walk and occasionally required to sit. Must communicate verbally including speaking and hearing. The team member will frequently need to reach with arms and use hands to manipulate or feel. The team member must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The duties of this position are typically performed in an office environment with low to moderate noise, and adequate lighting. The casino environment has moderate to loud noise levels and is a smoking environment.

WORKING HOURS:

Because we are open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, most positions require flexibility in scheduling and may require team members be available for evenings, weekends, holidays and special events. A typical workweek and normal work schedules may vary based on business needs and may include scheduled shifts Monday through Sunday. Position may require overtime.
