Job description
Duties Sets up, serves and breaks down salad bar and server when required. Serve as a cashier, operating the Point-of-Sale cash register system, collecting cash from customers, making exact change, and safeguarding cash IAW established procedures. Breaks down dirty trays, washes and sanitizes dishes, utensils, and trays. Picks up food carts and dirty trays and returns them to the Dishroon. Requirements Conditions of Employment Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation. This position has been designated "Mission Essential". In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations (natural or man-made disaster) the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled. This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position. This position has a requirement to lift up to 55 lbs. in the regular performance of duties. This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is subject to annual vaccination. Position requires incumbent to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance. Qualifications Who May Apply: US Citizens Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). Work Practices (Including Keeping Things Neat, Clean, and in Order) PHYSICAL EFFORT: Work is performed on hard surfaces and in areas that require the employee to continuously stand, walk, stoop, bend, push, pull, and reach. Must frequently lift and carry supplies, materials, or equipment weighing up to 50 pounds with or without assistance. WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is performed in well-lighted areas that are often hot, humid, and noisy. Work is performed in close quarters and employee is exposed to injury from falling on wet floors or food spillage. Employee is subject to injuries from equipment, dishes, pots and pans and serviceware to include burns, bruises, and cuts. Employee is also subject to dirt, grease, and chemicals used for cleaning. Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone no substitution of education for experience is permitted. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. One year trial/probationary period may be required. Direct Deposit of Pay is required.
