REGISTERED VETERINARY TECHNICIAN

We are currently seeking individuals who are looking to advance their knowledge, experience and skills working alongside our Board-Certified Specialists in the following departments:

WHAT YOU NEED:
Credentialed as a veterinary technician (RVT, CVT, LVT, LVMT) or 2+ years of experience specifically in a critical care environment
Basic computer skills
Ability to read, speak, and hear sufficiently to understand, and complete tasks instructed in all forms of communication, written, verbal or other
Provide information in person & over the phone communicating clearly, appropriately & professionally
Ability to stand for prolonged hours, kneel, work on the floor as well as ability to lift up to 25kg on own and able to support up to 50 kg with assistance.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT TO DO:
Treat patients and clients with the highest level of compassion, respect and care
Collect samples and perform diagnostic tests including in-house & point of care tests & diagnostic imaging
Be trained to properly perform all aspects of CPR as a RECOVER Certified Rescuer
Participate in giving and receiving patient rounds to ensure continuity of care
Administer SQF, IM, IV injections & understand potential adverse effects of medications
Use understanding of common diseases and conditions, physical assessment & monitoring parameters to provide the most comprehensive patient care
Perform basic to intermediate & intensive nursing care tasks, patient monitoring, and treatments
Coach & guide veterinary assistants and fellow technicians to perform clinical tasks to maintain standards of care and encourage growth. Collaborate & share knowledge w/ team to ensure optimal patient care
Aid in managing patient care workload to ensure the patients are receiving uncompromised care
Obtain additional training along guided growth pathways offering roles in addition to direct nursing care such as VTS certification, mentorship role, community outreach, and leadership
Conduct treatments using clinical decision-making skills according to protocol/SOP's
Administer, monitor and maintain patients under general anesthesia with or without mechanical ventilation for patients with carried levels of ASA.
Monitor and perform high quality of care for dedicated patients that may or may not be on a ventilator
