Description:
Position Summary:
The Nurse Practitioner (NP) is a Registered Nurse who possesses additional clinical and didactic education to function at an advanced level of nursing practice. They will be clinically competent in physical diagnosis, psychosocial assessment and management of health-illness needs to provide direct patient care and education to patients, families, students, and nursing staff. The NP consistently demonstrates the core values of client and serves as a role model to other employees.
Education / Training / Experience:
Minimum:
Graduate of a Family or Women s Health Nurse Practitioner program. (New graduates may be considered with prior experience in pediatrics and/or NICU)
Desired:
Bilingual in Spanish
Clinic or ambulatory experience
Licenses / Certifications:
Current licensure as a Registered Nurse with the California Board of Registered Nursing
Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner with the California Board of Registered Nursing
Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner Furnisher with the California Board of Registered Nursing (within 3 months of hire)
Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) number or proof of application (within 3 months of hire)
Meets Centers for Medical & Medicaid Services (CMS) criteria to bill Medicare
Current AHA-HCP CPR recognition
Credentialed through the client Staff office and Finance Office
Desired:
National Certification as a Nurse Practitioner with a Family Practice or Women s Health specialty
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities:
Must have the confidence and experience to work independently with diverse patient populations and experience in accessing specialty referrals and community resources. Must have the ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally. Must have the ability to lead, motivate, delegate, analyze information and problem solve. Behavior should be reflective of client core values.
Physician Assistant:
Position Summary:
The Physician Assistant (PA) provides and coordinates direct patient care. The PA provides diagnostic, therapeutic, and preventative healthcare service, as delegated by a physician. The PA will report to the Women s Services Manager for all employee/employer issues regarding departmental and organizational operations. The PA consistently demonstrates the core values of client and serves as a role model to other employees.
Education / Training / Experience:
Minimum:
Graduate of a PA educational program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission (ARC) on Education for Physician Assistants (or its predecessor agency) OR current certification with the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
Desired:
Recent OBGYN experience
One-year clinical experience as a Physician Assistant
Bilingual in Spanish desirable
Licenses / Certifications:
Minimum:
Current California Physician Assistant License
Certification by National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistant (NCCPA), if not a graduate from an accredited ARC Physician Assistant educational program
Current CPR recognition
Current ACLS recognition (within 3 months of hire)
Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) number or proof of application
Meets Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) to bill Medicare
Credentialed through the client Staff Office and Finance Office
