Anduril's Land Systems team develops software for land-based crewed and robotic ground systems, leveraging software infrastructure built by other teams at Anduril. The team is responsible for taking crewed vehicles and uncrewed ground vehicle (UGV) from paper sketches to operational systems. We are looking for software engineers excited about fielding the next generation of software-defined ground combat vehicles. Anduril Land Systems is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to work on our next-generation Vehicle Electronics (Vetronics) architecture. In this role, you will be developing the core software for a software-defined and Zonal-inspired architecture tailored to the harsh demands of the battlefield. WHAT YOU'LL DO Lead high-impact projects through requirements analysis, design, and execution Design and deliver features for a distributed onboard vehicle architecture Develop device drivers, protocols, and APIs for vehicle sensors Create software-in-the-loop (SITL) / hardware-in-the-loop (HITL) test fixtures Help secure our embedded system devices Develop and maintain automated tests to ensure proper functionality of embedded systems Communicate effectively to plan, execute, and deliver results across multiple teams and functions REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS At least 5 years of experience developing and implementing embedded systems, with a bias towards rapid delivery and iteration Direct experience with DO-178, ISO 26262 or other similar design assurance standards and processes. Experience working on systems with hard real-time requirements Low-level device driver development, experience with microcontrollers and application processors Experience developing embedded Linux systems using Yocto, buildroot, NixOS, or similar systems Experience debugging and performing root cause investigations using hardware schematics and component data sheets Familiarity with communications busses and protocols such as CAN, CANFD, ARINC-825, ARINC-429, MIL-STD-1553, UART/RS232/RS422/RS485, SPI, QSPI, I2C, Ethernet, etc. Strong debugging skills through use of instrumentation such as oscilloscopes and protocol analyzers Experience with one or more of the following languages: C, C++, Rust Must be willing to travel for test an demo events up to 25% Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret clearance PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Experience working on vehicles with Zonal architectures (e.g., Tesla, Rivian). Experience with ARINC 653 - Integrated Modular Avionics or similar architectures. Experience with software development in OpenVPX / SOSA computing. Experience with DoD reference architectures such as: Ground Combat Systems (GCS) Common Infrastructure Architecture (GCIA) Future Airborne Capability Environment (FACE) Experience implementing robot or autonomous vehicle testing frameworks in a software-in-the-loop (SITL) or hardware-in-the-loop (HITL) environment. Experience with modern build and deployment tooling (e.g. NixOS, Terraform). Experience with measuring and enhancing performance related to speed, size, (low) power consumption, and cost US Salary Range $168,000 - $252,000 USD The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offer may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations.
