Speech-Language Pathologist Position Summary
The Speech-Language Pathologist administers diagnostic speech and language evaluations, provides direct patient services, and instructs/educates patients and caregivers following established policies and protocols. The position is responsible for working directly with the children and parents and ensuring that each child receives optimal individualized treatment. In addition, the position also collaborates with the clinical team, educators, and families to ensure optimal growth and development for each child. Duties and Responsibilities
Evaluates and assess pediatric patients with a variety of communication disorders, voice and swallowing impairment, and/or neurological defects
Educates patient, family, teachers, and other caregivers in treatment and home management techniques
Participates in continuing education to continually improve skills and abilities and stay abreast of current technologies/practices
Collaborates with a multi-disciplinary team to ensure the highest quality and consistency of care
Offers appropriate referrals, resources, and education to parents
Ensures compliance with legal issues including but not limited to patient confidentiality and risk management; ensures compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations
Performs other duties as assigned by the manager
Qualifications
Master's Degree in speech-language pathology, current California license in speech and language pathology, and one year of related experience (CFY candidates also considered)
Current CPR certification

Excellent written and oral communication skills
Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills
Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm
Strong charting/documentation skills
Able to work collaboratively with multiple health professionals in a busy and complex environment using tact, diplomacy, and discipline

May be required to lift up to 40 pounds
Kneel or sit on the floor for up to 30 minutes at a time while working with children
