The Space Systems Group (SSG), part of SPA's Space and Intelligence Division, provides timely and objective assessments and recommendations integrating technical, operational, programmatic, policy and business analysis. We focus on our key clients in the Space community including the US Space Force's Space Systems Command (USSF/SSC), one of the three designated Field Commands under USSF. We work tirelessly to provide integrated solutions based on information and communications throughout the chain of command. Come join an organization responsible for being a key enabler of Spacepower! SPA has an immediate need for a Software Engineer. Responsibilities About the Position As a Software Engineer at SPA, you will be assigned to support the US Space Force's Space Systems Command (SSC), Operational Command and Control Acquisition Delta, known as Kobayashi Maru. Kobayashi Maru is responsible for continuously delivering impactful software for space operations. The program office's mission includes the development and deployment of software for space defense, space domain awareness, and enabling data services. As Full-Stack Software Engineer your responsibilities will include: Writing well-documented, high-performance, reliable, and maintainable code. Performing code reviews, debugging, testing, and troubleshooting code. Designing, developing, and deploying apps with a focus on availability, low latency, security, and scalability. Demonstrating expertise and implementing Test Driven Development (TDD) practices that meet a minimum of 80 percent or more coverage of the code base. Implementing linting to evaluate code for programmatic and stylistic errors and conducting unit testing to test all pieces of code. Providing expertise in functional, integration, automated, dynamic, and static security and testing for code development. Preparing and participating in Agile and/or DevSecOps ceremonies. Demonstrating expertise operating in accordance with agile principals, such as epic, feature, user story, story, task, enabler, spike, etc. Qualifications About the Must Haves Minimum 3 years of professional experience performing Full-Stack Software Engineering for complex applications. Bachelor's degree in computer science or relevant STEM field from an accredited institution You are a US Citizen Your resume must demonstrate experience: Using front-end technologies, back-end technologies, and databases Evidence of working in Agile development environments and the associated ceremonies Consistently producing high-quality code resulting in robust, secure, and reliable software Proof of optimizing software performance Familiarity with Test-Driven Development Frontend Experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Typescript, and React Backend Experience with Java, Kotlin, Gradle, and Spring Boot Running software in Linux environments At SPA, we strive to deliver a robust total compensation package that will attract and retain top talent.
