Job description

Under the supervision of the Business Office Manager, the Accounts Payable Clerk performs general accounting tasks to process invoices and make payments to vendors.


DUTIES:

  • Verifies vendor invoices for accuracy.
  • Collects receipts, verifies authenticity and approval.
  • Verifies that all purchases have corresponding receipts.
  • Posts invoices to appropriate accounts/cost centers.
  • Provides weekly A/P report to Executive Director for approval.
  • Prepares, prints and mails weekly payments to vendors.
  • Follows up on invoice discrepancies and ensures credit is received.
  • Processes monthly mileage reimbursement for employees and prepares checks for payment.
  • Maintains vendor files with contracts, invoices, etc.
  • Prepares monthly reports, spreadsheets, etc.
  • Provides information for audits, as requested.

KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:

Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to maintain accurate records and prepare reports.

Ability to prioritize and complete tasks with multiple interruptions.

Ability to meet required deadlines.

Ability to learn and interpret systems, regulations and policies.

Excellent computer skills and knowledge of WORD and Excel.

Good organization skills.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma or equivalent.

At least two years of experience in the Accounts Payable function.

At least one year of practical application of computer skills.




Compensation details: 24-27.5 Hourly Wage
