Job description

At NorthBay Health as a Registered Nurse on the Surgical Prep Area Unit you will provide safe, effective, quality, excellent nursing care to our patients following Jean Watson's Theory of Caring, the Relationship Based Care, and the NorthBay's professional nursing practice model. You will assess, plan, implement and evaluate care for all patients assigned to your care. You will also use a therapeutic professional relationship with the patient and their family along with your interdisciplinary team to facilitate the promotion, maintenance, and restoration of health for the patient. Education:

  • G raduate from an accredited school of professional registered nursing,
  • Nursing degree of BSN level or higher is required. (excludes grandfathered employees)

License and Certifications:

  • Valid, current and unencumbered RN license by the State of California.
  • Current AHA or AHA equivalent BLS and ACLS required.
  • Must have Telemetry certification within 3 months of employment.

Experience, Knowledge, and Skills:

  • Minimum of 2 years required (5 years preferred) in an acute care setting, Medical-surgical nursing
  • Competent in providing skilled registered nursing care to surgical patients
  • Skilled in arrhythmia interpretation
  • Modifies and delivers care that is specific to the special needs/behaviors of the infant through school aged adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient within the scope of service of the perioperative departments.
  • Proficient written, verbal, and electronic communication skills.

Compensation:

  • Hourly Salary Range Min $72.59 - Max $87.53 (Offered hourly rate based on years of experience)
  • 15% differential available to external and internal applicants with Per Diem status.
  • Plus, Generous Shift Differentials, Night Differential: $9.80 per hour, Evening Differential: 6.60 per hour
