Job description
Duties Serves as subject matter expert for activities in the areas of contingency missions and current operations. Oversees and directs critical, day-to-day taskings and current operations for an installation with over 8,000 military and civilian personnel. Oversees the formulation, development and exercise of the installation's numerous contingency plans dealing with disasters, emergencies, terrorist and force protection incidents, and numerous special contingency missions. Initiates action and coordination with other services, agencies, MACOMs, unified and specified commands, to obtain plans, revisions, and other material, and is pro-active in maintaining Fort Irwin as a distribution address for these plans. Requirements Conditions of Employment Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation. Must obtain and maintain a SECRET Security Clearance. Official Temporary Duty (TDY) up to 15% of time may be required. A one-year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed. This position has been designated as Mission Essential.
