The Technology Design team thinks beyond what is possible today. They Client, disrupt, and chart a course to where our fans and consumers will be next. Design
brings the Disney magic to life by building digital customer experiences via the entire portfolio of both consumer-facing products and internal products and tooling. This includes Sports, Entertainment, News, Streaming and Enterprise Products and Experiences.
Collaborate with Design Manager/Director on project organization, allocations, team
welfare/health, status tracking, and successful deliveries; Accountable for driving execution and delivery of high-profile product or software development programs and work streams from start to finish
Identify and remove blockers to enable Designers to work productively toward project goals; Ability to drive problems to resolution by leading and driving the right conversations with stakeholders, applying decision making frameworks and data driven methodologies
Organize and lead routine ceremonies for the health of both individual projects as well as the overall program, with a mindfulness to time zone differences and work/life balance
Proactively ask and identify gaps or blockers prior to intake to ensure that the team has all the information and resources necessary to succeed; including dependencies, urgencies and a clear definition of success for outcomes/deliverables before starting a project
Ensure the team is delivering great design quickly, predictably, and with appropriately defined scope
Manage multiple competing cross-organizational projects/programs simultaneously on a global scale
Track progress throughout the duration of a project (from definition to launch and beyond) with a mindfulness toward dependencies, and facilitate effective communication within and across teams
Maintain documentation and dashboards that allow for quick and efficient understanding of resource capacity and project status
Meet regularly with cross team business partners (Engineering/Product) to give/gather
feedback on projects & drive performance forward
Basic Qualifications:
Typically has 8 or more years of progressively complex related experience.
BA/BS or equivalent experience required.
Expert knowledge and experience with the software development life cycle; experience in streaming media software, broadcast technology, and/or media engineering preferred.
Mastery in Agile or Waterfall Project Management methods that may include Scrum, Kanban, and/or Scaled Agile.
Has a solid understanding of UX/UI designs, timelines and creative solutions.
Authenticity and excellent relationship building and communication skills are must.
Experienced with working on projects with distributed teams, making use of technology and process to overcome the challenges of working with remote staff across multiple time zones.
Experience managing large teams on complex high-profile projects, and are viewed as the "go-to individual.
Strong experience with JIRA and Confluence including tool administration, customization of issues/workflows/forms and attributes.
Comfortable in fast changing environments, with loose guidelines, fluctuating demands,
building and managing relationships with cross-functional stakeholders.
Strong communication and presentation skills; proven ability to effectively get buy-in at all levels and across cross-functional teams.
Experienced in planning for and effectively managing project risks.
Builds strong relationships throughout the company and earns the trust of team members.
Excellent problem solving & conflict resolution skills; thrives when working with complexity; Cool, calm, and collected under pressure.
