Job Summary:

Raytheon's Airborne Multi-Mission Electronics Dept. part of Integrated Electrical Solution mission area, is seeking an experienced firmware design engineer to work onsite in Goleta, CA to design and develop power conversion technologies for the airborne military applications.

Responsibilities to Anticipate :

This position is for an electrical engineer to work in the Hardware/Firmware Engineering Department at the Electronic Warfare Systems of Raytheon Intelligent and Space (RIS). The person hired for this position will work on new product development based on descriptions and specifications provided by our customers. This entails working in integrated product teams to design, develop, and manufacture complex state-of-the-art systems for airborne, naval, and land-based military applications. Activities include detailed digital design, embedded systems, and FPGA development. Specific tasks include circuit analysis, circuit simulation, FPGA programming, design documentation, design verification and testing, and integration of hardware and software at the level of electronic components and circuit boards.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience designing, debugging, testing electronics hardware.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required within one year of start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in related field
  • Background in embedded electronics, VHDL, Verilog, System Verilog, Schematic capture, signal processing, RF, FPGA
  • Able to work in a team environment
  • Able to use engineering tools for design

The salary range for this role is 70,000 USD - 142,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.
