Job description

Eikon Therapeutics is a new biopharmaceutical company employing revolutionary technology at the intersection of chemistry, engineering, computation, and biology to discover novel treatments for life-threatening diseases. Eikon's discovery platform is built on groundbreaking innovations from its founders (Nobel Prize, 2014), culminating in the creation of microscopes which enable real time, molecular-resolution measurements of protein movement in living cells, thereby unlocking otherwise intractable classes of proteins as drug targets.

Position

Eikon is launching a product line of instrumentation and software to benefit the broader research community. As a Senior Scientist embedded within the Eikon Systems team you will develop applications and assays that complement our product offerings, support the implementation of these assays on the Eikon platform, and work with researchers outside of Eikon to demonstrate their utility. This position is a combination of experimental work at the bench and analytical work to deliver experimental solutions that cater to the unique analytical capabilities of our platform.

You are passionate about bringing new technologies to the broader research community and have a desire to aid in the advancement of researchers understanding of cellular mechanisms. You excel at problem solving and demonstrate good interpersonal skills. You have a collaborative mind-set, are open to learning new techniques and would be an ambassador for promoting our technology to external researchers. You have experience applying rigorous analytical approaches to your experimental results.

What You'll Do

  • Collaboratively plan, design, conduct and analyze experiments supporting initiatives across diverse disciplines such as cell biology, optical engineering, software development, product management, and commercial development.
  • Develop and champion novel applications that support commercial adoption.
  • Demonstrate the Eikon platform and related applications to potential customers.
  • Develop and own technical project plans for statements of work (SoW) that address unique customer problems.
  • Attend relevant conferences and understand the current state of the field.
  • Develop technical and promotional content such as publications, white papers, and user guides.

Qualifications

  • Postdoc fellowship plus 2 years; or Ph.D. plus 5 years of relevant experience; or Master's plus 14 years of relevant experience; or Bachelor's plus 16 years of relevant experience
  • Strong expertise in quantitative cell imaging techniques; previous experience in super resolution microscopy a plus.
  • Quantitative analysis of large datasets using software tools (e.g. Python, MATLAB, R), experience with scientific Python is a plus.
  • Experience with mammalian cell culture and cell line engineering.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • A customer service mindset.

The expected salary range for this role is $134,000 to $146,300 depending on skills, competency, and the market demand for your expertise.
