Responsibilities:
Under the supervision of the director, incumbent is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the classroom.The lead teacher shares responsibility for establishing an effective environment for the children.The teacher is knowledgeable of the Center's philosophy, policies, goals, and objectives.Duties include: planning and supervising the classroom activities and providing an environment for 2 1/2 to 5 year old children that promote safe, healthy and free exploration.The lead teacher is responsible for providing an environment where the children feel safe and comfortable.

The expected pay range for this recruitment is 26.13- 37.02 (Hourly).
Required:
Ability to work effectively as a member of child development team, with children, parents, staff members, and community representatives in providing a quality educational program
Ability to demonstrate a nurturing, warm, and supportive attitude when interacting with children; ability to relate to children as individuals and in small and large groups
Effective communication skills, both with children and adults
Ability to work with and be sensitive to a culturally diverse community
Experience working with preschool-aged children in a center-based environment
Familiarity with federal and state health safety regulations applicable to a child care facility
Thorough understanding of child development and the philosophy and methodology of early childhood education, as well as changes taking place in the field
Ability to plan, organize, and direct a challenging developmental and instructional program for kindergarten and preschool age children. Ability to use sound judgment
Knowledge of developmental needs of children ages 2 1/2 to 5
Knowledge of appropriate activities (physical, emotional, language, social, and cognitive) for this age group
Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in Early Childhood Education, or an equivalent combination of education and 2 years experience working with children age 2 1/2 to 5 in a center based facility.
Current California Child Development Program permit at teacher level or higher
Current First Aid and CPR certifications
At least 2 years working in licensed center-based child care facilities
Preferred:
Knowledgeable of NAEYC Accreditation Criteria
Three (3) to six (6) units of Infant Toddler course work.
Special Conditions:
Absence of active TB and other immunizations as required by Community Care Licensing
This is a in person position, teachers may be assigned shifts between 7:30 AM- 6:00 PM, Monday- Friday depending on the needs of the department
