Director of FP&A for a retail entertainment company with multiple locations, including internationally.

Client Details

Our client is a sports, entertainment and retail company based in Irvine, California. The business has successfully scaled operations to be based across the US and Europe with a strong brand presence. They are now looking to progress with this growth and are hiring a Director of FP&A to report to the CFO and support overall financial planning, reporting and analysis. The role will include complex financial modeling and multi-site analysis.

Description

  • Strategic Financial Planning: Develop and execute comprehensive financial plans that align with our company's strategic objectives. This includes long-term forecasting, budgeting, and scenario planning.

  • Detailed Analysis: Conduct in-depth analysis of the company's financial performance, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities. Provide actionable insights and recommendations to senior management.

  • Financial Modeling: Build, refine, and maintain complex financial models to support strategic decision-making. Ensure models are robust, accurate, and reflective of business realities.

  • Multi-Site Coordination: Collaborate with finance teams across multiple sites and international offices to ensure consistency and accuracy in financial reporting and planning.

  • Performance Metrics: Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor business performance and drive improvements.

  • Reporting: Prepare and present detailed financial reports and analyses to the CFO and other senior executives. Ensure clarity and accuracy in all financial communications.

  • Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of FP&A professionals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.

Profile

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. An MBA or advanced degree is preferred.

  • Experience: Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in financial planning and analysis, with at least 3 years in a leadership role. Experience in a multi-site, international company is highly desirable.

  • Skills:

    • Expertise in financial modeling, forecasting, and strategic analysis.
    • Strong understanding of financial statements and business metrics.
    • Proficiency in financial software and advanced Excel skills. Experience with ERP systems is a plus.
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
    • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Personal Traits: Strategic thinker with a proactive approach. Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities. Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and integrity.

Job Offer

  • Comp variable depending upon experience. Estimated range $150,000 to $200,000
