Responsibilities:
This recruitment is for Temporary Administrative Assistant III positions through UCI's internal temporary staffing service.

The Administrative Assistant III must consistently exercise a high degree of initiative, confidentiality, independence, good judgment, flexibility in performing a wide variety of duties, and the ability to adjust to changing priorities while working well under pressure. Performance at this level requires independent critical thinking and problem solving, strong verbal and written communication skills, creativity, knowledge of office environment and technology, and a commitment to seeing tasks and projects through to completion.

Job Duties:

Support new and existing Chao Family Comprehensive Cancer Center (CFCCC) programmatic activities including but not limited to, Cancer Research Education & Training Coordination (CRTEC); Equity, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI)

Coordinate scheduling, advertising, registration, meeting logistics, and evaluation for three research programs, CFCCC workshops, and related Cancer Center activities.

Support educational, mentorship, and career development programs spanning high school students to mid-career faculty in cancer research.

Assist with program development and management, including curriculum planning, speaker scheduling, advertising, registration, and evaluation.

Organize seminars, workshops, and activities for Cancer Center members and community engagement.

Develop and maintain trainee databases (EVAL or Smartsheet) to track outcomes and assess program impact.

Collect and report education metrics and contribute to new initiatives supporting equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI).

Identify and collaborate with campus departments to enhance EDI training and awareness programs.

Track CFCCC demographic data for program participants to measure EDI efforts and highlight improvement areas

Pay Rate: $28.49

Required:

Thorough knowledge in administrative procedures and processes including word processing, spreadsheet and database applications.

Requires good verbal and written communication skills, active listening, critical thinking, multi-task and time management skills.

Requires effective organization skills

Requires interpersonal and work leadership skills to provide guidance to other nonexempt personnel.

3-5 years Broad knowledge of office environment and administrative support needs with the ability to provide executive level support in a fast-paced environment.

3-5 years of Administrative Assistant experience

3-5 years of managing different department programs
