Responsibilities:
Uses professional concepts. Applies organizational policies and procedures to resolve routine issues. Works on problems of limited scope. Follows standard practices and procedures in analyzing situations or data from which answers can be readily obtained. Contacts are primarily internal to the department or unit.

Summary of the Work to be Performed:

Purchasing duties such as KFS requisition documents, UCI PalCard, initiate Disbursement Vouchers and Travel and Entertainment documents.

Reviews ledger entries for Dean's Office units for appropriate object code use and other basic accounting duties.

Accounting background either in practice or from college classes required.

Preferred candidate has University and KFS system experience but can be trained in KFS.

UCLC training for KFS transactions may be completed upon start of temporary assignment.

Pay Rate: $25.77/hr

Required:

Basic knowledge of finance policies, practices, and systems.

Acquiring ability to gather reasonably retrievable information to organize and perform basic financial analysis assignments.

Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.

Basic proficiency using spreadsheet and database software in financial analysis, fiscal management, and financial reports.

Basic interpersonal skills; broad service orientation and critical thinking skills; and attention to detail. Under management guidance, uses organizational skills to multi-task in a high volume environment.

Ability to adapt to changing priorities.

Ability to function as a member of a team.

Basic knowledge and understanding of internal control practices and their impact on protecting University resources.

Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training

Business casual for onsite/in office attendance.

1-3 years Relevant experience or combination of experience and education.

TEMPORARY EMPLOYMENT

This is a temporary employment recruitment reporting to the UCI Temporary Employment Services (TES) Department. Interviewing and hiring is based on internal hiring needs and how well the candidate's experience matches the assignment requirements. Certain temporary assignments may require clearance of a health physical or require a valid California Driver's License for driving university vehicles.

The majority of our temporary positions are Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. We also have occasional part-time, weekend, and evening hours available, depending on the assignment. Comprehensive benefits options are also available for temporary employees, including paid vacation, holidays, and sick leave.
