Location Description:
Lake Arrowhead Resort and Spa is nestled high atop the majestic San Bernardino Mountains at an elevation of 5,174'. This Resort is surrounded by an ocean of Ponderosa Pines and gives guests exclusive access to Lake Arrowhead, a reservoir with a surface area of 780 acres. Lake Arrowhead is the perfect location for outdoor adventure enthusiasts and offers a variety of summertime and wintertime activities including hiking, mountain biking, fishing, kayaking, water skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing, ziplining, and more. The resort includes a Bar & Restaurant, Spa & Wellness Center, Outdoor Pool & Lake Beach as well as over 23,000 sq. ft of meeting and events space.

Overview:
The Assistant Food & Beverage Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing the operations and staff across all dining outlets at Lake Arrowhead Resort and Spa. This position is essential for maintaining high standards of service and efficiency in a diverse range of dining experiences, including casual dining, grab-and-go service, café and barista, poolside offerings, and upscale restaurants.

Your Role:

Operational Support: Ensure smooth functioning of all food and beverage venues.

Engaging Atmosphere: Foster a vibrant, experiential environment for both staff and guests while upholding service excellence.

Staff Scheduling: Manage staffing schedules to meet operational forecasts.

Guest Interaction: Enhance guest satisfaction through direct engagement and addressing needs.

Issue Resolution: Assist team members and guests with any arising challenges.

Briefings: Conduct daily pre- and post-shift briefings for each venue.

Training and Coaching: Provide necessary training and support to staff.

Team Accountability: Ensure productivity and accountability among team members during shifts.

Responsible Service: Oversee alcohol service to ensure compliance and safety.

Quality Standards: Maintain high standards for food and beverage quality and overall service.

Cleanliness: Ensure the restaurant environment is clean and well-maintained, including tables, floors, and service stations.

Financial Management: Handle nightly cash outs, side work, closing duties, and perform opening and closing walkthroughs.

Administrative Duties: Monitor payroll, revenue, assist with inventory control, and manage daily paperwork.

Marginal Functions:

Additional Tasks: Respond to reasonable requests from supervisors or managers.

Acting Manager: Assume managerial duties in their absence.

Hiring and Training: Assist with the recruitment and training of new staff as needed.

Leadership Support: Complete any reasonable requests from leadership beyond outlined responsibilities.

Environment:

Primarily indoors in a climate-controlled setting with hard kitchen floors that may be slippery or greasy at times, with occasional outdoor work in varying weather conditions.

Qualifications:
Certifications: RBS and Food Handlers Certification are REQUIRED (training time provided but must be completed at orientation).

Experience: Minimum of two years in high-volume restaurant leadership and four years in the Food & Beverage industry.

Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred.

Skills: Strong beverage and bar experience; availability for late-night shifts is essential.

Decision-Making: Quick decision-making skills in fast-paced, high-stress situations.

Organization: Highly organized with excellent communication skills.

Interpersonal Skills: Friendly demeanor with a strong sense of accountability.

Customer Service: Exceptional customer service skills are a must.

Industry Background: Experience in luxury hotels or full-service resort food and beverage operations is preferred.

Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with Micros is a plus.

Personality: Must possess a pleasant and positive attitude.

Physical Requirements:

Frequent walking, standing, reaching, and balancing for extended periods.

Occasional crouching, bending, and pushing/pulling.

Regularly lifting and carrying up to 5 lbs., with frequent lifting of up to 50 lbs.

Requires manual dexterity and gross motor skills, with constant vision and hearing capabilities.

Compensation Range:
The compensation for this position is $68,640.00/Yr. - $69,000.00/Yr. based on qualifications and experience.
