Duties The United States Space Force (USSF) Space Systems Command at Vandenberg Space Force Base is searching for an Equal Employment Opportunity Manager (NH-0260-03, GS-12/13 equivalent). Key Skills and Abilities: - Initial 32-hour Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Counselor training preferred - Defense Equal Opportunity Management Institute (DEOMI) training preferred - Knowledge of Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) directives and guidance, and experience processing EEO complaints Description: As Equal Employment Manager, you will have the opportunity to provide robust relevant and efficient range and spaceport capabilities for the nation. This is an import part of improving mission effectiveness. You will be able to promote and implement equal opportunity programs for both military and civilian members to create an environment free from personal, social, or institutional barriers that prevent Air Force members from rising to the highest level of responsibility possible based on their individual merit, fitness, and capability. While working you will be asked to advance a diverse workforce by visibly providing the planning framework for a strong leadership and commitment to diversity. Through synchronization and oversight, this office seeks to broaden USSF outreach and recruitment. The focus of the mission is to create a community of inclusion, building and executing a diversity, equity, and inclusion strategy that will positively and measurably affect the culture, team, and employee experience in the USSF. Purpose: To serve as a first level supervisor over the Equal Opportunity (EO) office providing planning, directing, organizing, and exercising control over nonsupervisory employees assigned. The position is principal advisor to the Delegated Appointing Authority Commander on EO and conflict resolution matters; The incumbent is authorized to make technical and executive decisions for the Installation/Center Commander (Director) in all areas of functional responsibility, represent the Commander at meetings, conferences, official functions, and community events as pertains to EO, or regarding general conflict resolution matters. This position affects all military and civilian personnel under the authority of the Commander. May also serve as the ADR Manager Key Skills and Abilities: 1. Knowledge of DoD, Air Force, MAJCOM/FLDCOM, federal law, executive orders, and local directives pertaining to EO programs. 2. Knowledge and general understanding of Air Force organizational and federal personnel structure and functions. 3. Knowledge and practical understanding of organizational and human relations behavior. 4. Knowledge of safety and security regulations, practices, and procedures. 5. Ability to gather facts and use non-judgmental and effective analytical and evaluation methods to accurately assess information and make sound decisions. 6. Ability to plan, organize, and direct the functions and staff of an organization Requirements Conditions of Employment Must be a U.S Citizen. Employee must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance. May be required to travel by military or commercial aircraft in the performance of TDY assignments. May be required to work overtime on an unscheduled or emergency basis. Required to handle and safeguard sensitive and/or classified information in accordance with regulations to reduce potential compromise. This position is eligible for telework 2-4 days per pay period.
