Account Manager, Defense Location: Long Beach, CA
Salary Range: $125,000. - $150,000. (Exempt)
Shift/Schedule: Mon-Fri (On-site) Company Overview: Nikon AM Synergy Inc. is a cutting-edge provider of metal additive manufacturing (AM) solutions, specializing in the aerospace, defense (ultra-secure), and space industries. We focus on the manufacture and certification of production flight hardware, aiming to drive industry growth through the integration of AM technology. Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Account Manager, Defense to join our team. Reporting directly to the VP of Business Development, this mid-level management role will focus on managing customer engagements, fostering relationships, and driving sales and business development for defense programs. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with various departments and partners to ensure the seamless realization of customer requirements. Responsibilities: Collaborate with operations and senior teams to align production planning with customer needs.
Develop and implement effective business development strategies and policies for the defense market.
Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, external partners, and stakeholders, including Nikon Advanced Manufacturing Ecosystem entities.
Track and report performance metrics to support sales results and strategic presentations to the Board of Directors and CEO.
Stay abreast of industry and market trends in defense and related sectors.
Assist in developing policies and procedures for smooth pricing activities and control mechanisms.
Work with Nikon Advanced Manufacturing Ecosystem companies on business operations and future initiatives.
Undertake special projects and other duties as assigned. Required Skills and Abilities: Deep understanding of defense programs, DoD, and prime contractors; established relationships with primes are advantageous.
Proven program management skills with proficiency in related software.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present information clearly.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with CAD software.
Willingness to work primarily from the Long Beach facility and travel as needed.
Respectful of diverse opinions and able to work in a consensus-driven culture.
Skilled in managing difficult relationships and resolving interpersonal issues.
Energetic, flexible, and proactive with a positive attitude.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.

Fluency in English and US Citizenship required.
Current or previous secret-level clearance is mandatory. Education/Experience Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Aerospace, Industrial, Mechanical, Manufacturing) or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of business development experience in defense, particularly with classified programs.
Proven expertise in business development processes for government (defense) contracts.
Experience in risk management and compliance.
Ideally experienced in a global, multi-cultural environment.
Understanding of manufacturing, especially Additive Manufacturing, is preferred but not required.
