How you make a difference:
The Director of Nursing oversees the comprehensive organization, execution, and assessment of nursing services within a facility, offering proficient leadership and direction to licensed and unlicensed nursing personnel while upholding adherence to regulatory frameworks including Title 9, HIPAA, and CARF. This role entails superintending top-notch client care, adept resource management, interdepartmental collaboration, and engagement with medical practitioners, all while advocating for the facility. In charge of departmental protocols, policies, and benchmarks, the Director of Nursing plays a pivotal role in daily operations and staff coordination, particularly in mental health rehabilitation centers boasting 42 beds or more, without charge nurse obligations.

Key Responsibilities:
Directs and manages all aspects of Mental Health Rehabilitation Center Nursing programs and services, developing new strategies and programs based on community needs while ensuring adherence to current nursing practice standards, facility philosophy, and state/federal regulations.

Provides leadership and oversight for adult nursing and behavioral health services, supervising licensed and unlicensed nursing staff, participating in policy development, and ensuring sound fiscal and quality management principles.

Represents the facility in legislative forums, establishes working relationships with agencies and organizations, conducts public presentations, and oversees professional continuing education for nursing staff.

Oversees nursing schedules, admission, and discharge processes, conducts nursing assessments and treatment planning, and monitors client progress, while also implementing infection control programs and responding to inspection surveys.

Performs audits, monitors critical nursing processes, reviews consultant reports for clinical issues, and ensures comprehensive documentation compliance, including care plans, clinical notes, and incident reports.

Qualifications & Requirements:
Education

Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related health care or medical services.

Experience

One year of managerial experience in the last five years required.

Experience in a Psychiatric facility strongly preferred.

Licenses/Certifications

Registered Nurse in the state of employment
