Our Opportunity:
Exponent is seeking a Payroll Supervisor to join our Finance/Accounting Group in our Menlo Park, CA office. This individual will report to the Controller and will process the payroll for our U.S. based employees using ADP WorkForce Now. This individual will ensure that pay is processed on time, accurately, and in compliance with government regulations.

You will be responsible for:
Supervise a team of two payroll accountants

Administer bi-weekly payroll and ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, taxes, and other deductions.

Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates.

Prepare and maintain accurate records and reports of payroll transactions.

Prepare payroll journal entries including relevant accruals and reconcile payroll related accounts.

Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.

Ensure compliance with internal control policies.

Facilitate audits by providing records and documentation to auditors.

Identify and recommend updates to payroll accounting software, systems, and procedures.

Oversee and assist with the process for US payroll for all employees, including validation of all inputs to employee payroll files.

Assist preparing payroll journal entries for General Ledger and maintain support for vacation, ESPP and other accrued payroll journal entries as appropriate and prepare related account reconciliations.

Maintain compliance with accounting policies, procedures and SOX controls for payroll and stock administration areas and assist with external audits by providing supporting records and documentation.

Lead and/or assist with ad-hoc projects as required.

You will have the following skills and qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration, human resources or related field.

4+ years of multi-state and international payroll experience for >250 employees

Experience with supervising payroll process for both salaried and hourly employed staff

Ability to act strategically and analytically with process and control discipline

Experience supporting the administration of stock incentive plans

Strong organizational and communication skills.

Proficient with ADP WorkForce Now

Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite

Compensation:
The base salary range for this position is $105,000- $(phone number removed) depending on experience and capabilities, which will be assessed during the interview process.
