Job description
Position Summary
The IT Manager is responsible for Zollner's IT Infrastructure to enable and support Zollner's manufacturing business. Zollner uses sophisticated IT system to provide the highest standard of quality and efficiency to their customers. The IT Manager has a dual reporting line to CEO Zollner USA and the Vice President of IT in Germany. The IT Manager is responsible for managing all technical support staff, and computer operations as well as the computer hardware, software, operating systems, data communications, network security, including any manufacturing information technology devices, telecommunications, and the IT-related building cabling.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Preparing input for company strategic planning from the IT perspective, and analyze, monitor, and reporting to local & corporate management and staff on operational, financial, and industry related metrics & KPI's related to IT.
Support development and execution of both short- and long-term plans and programs to ensure the profitable growth and expansion of company services through the IT services and management.
Develop, propose, and establish IT policies and procedures as appropriate in coordination with Corporate.
Regularly communicates with Corporate and ensures alignment of IT services and systems with corporate requirements and direction.
Recommending & supporting development of cost-down strategies of policies & services that will result in improved operational performance of short-term and long-term programs.
Manage, mentor and develop the internal IT team to provide the essential IT function to the business.
Installation and upgrade of systems and/or HW/SW to enhance work performances for users within the facility.
Configure and install communications and PC hardware and software, perform problem diagnosis, and recommend solutions.
Create and establish policies, procedures, and standards regarding all general IT devices, software, and data to maintain their currency.
Process software updates for systems, configure network security and participate on all hardware and software evaluations and maintain vendor contracts, including vendor management.
Keep up to date with new IT infrastructure technology and report this information to the IT leadership.
Develop new IT troubleshooting strategies to reduce downtime and maintenance costs.
Implement a Disaster Recovery Plan according to global guidelines for local IT infrastructure.
Ensure global IT processes are established and adhered to in Zollner USA as well as document local processes and procedures.
Responsibility for the regional IT facilities, in particular the local data center operations and maintenance, including access control, climate control, UPS monitoring and management.
Participate in global and lead local IT related projects/working groups
Qualifications Required/Job Specifications:
7 years of IT experience preferable in a manufacturing environment
3 years of experience managing staff and/or small IT department
Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent education/experience in the computer science field
Proven ability to lead an IT group effectively.
Possess strong communication, coaching, listening, and interpersonal skills with the ability to relate to individuals from multi-cultural backgrounds, and build trusting relationships in order to gain support and achieve results, at all levels within the organization.
Possess a high level of integrity in handling confidential and sensitive information.
Must be self-directed, dependable, and motivated with excellent relationship and time management skills.
Hands-on experience in server and storage backend system in particular Windows Servers, VMWare vSphere virtualization, IBM AIX Power, NetApp Storage System, Microsoft Active Directory Services and RedHat Linux Expertise in Enduser Desktop maintenance and support for a Windows environment including Microsoft 365 and various specialized applications.
Hands-on experience with networking administration including Checkpoint firewalls, Client Aruba network equipment and wireless network configuration and administration.
Excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
Has the ability to communicate technical concepts knowledgeable to non-technical audiences.
Willingness to participate on-call duties if required.

Decision Making Authority:
Has authority of tasks on working with contractors and providing or guiding what is needing to be taken care of for projects, repair, and removal of IT equipment and systems
Has no authority of the hiring, only through request of approval or suggestion of a new hire within the department.
Can make suggestions for safety concerns and propose solutions for approval.
Has option of what vendors to seek business or order from for equipment, tools, and the necessities for the facilities.
Financial Responsibility:
Responsible for selecting vendors and quoting for utilities, maintenance services, and repair of IT services System/Equipment/Network down time issues
