Job description

Med-Laser Surgical Center, is seeking an Orderly to help maintain a smooth and efficient system across various departments within our healthcare facility. This position will assist in multiple areas, including patient transportation, housekeeping, inventory management, and more, ensuring that the facility operates seamlessly. Job Summary The Orderly is responsible for ensuring smooth operations across various areas of the facility by assisting with patient transport, housekeeping, inventory management, and other support activities. This role is essential in maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient environment while upholding the mission, vision, and values of the organization. Please note that the starting pay for this position is set bewtween $18.00 to 25.00 per hour. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Patient Transport: Transport patients to and from operating rooms, pre-op, and recovery areas. Communicate with OR and pre-op staff regarding procedure status. Assist OR staff with room turnover and patient care as needed. Housekeeping: Mop floors between cases, remove trash and laundry, and clean up spills using proper techniques and agents. Perform routine housekeeping chores, clean stretchers and equipment, and monitor housekeeping logs daily. Order and maintain supplies in pre-op and housekeeping areas. Inventory & Laundry Management: Receive, unload, and distribute incoming orders; verify packing slips and purchase orders. Sort, load, fold, and distribute laundry while maintaining correct inventory levels. Additional Support: Assist with patient positioning and preparation for procedures. Properly handle and label specimens obtained during procedures. Run errands to pick up and deliver supplies or other items as needed. Engage in various clerical and recordkeeping duties. Required Skills: Ability to work effectively within a team and respond to changing needs. Strong communication skills for interacting with patients, families, and healthcare staff. Adherence to the Center's policies and procedures, including maintaining patient privacy and safety protocols. Proactive and adaptable to various responsibilities across multiple departments. Attention to detail and ability to handle inventory management and housekeeping tasks efficiently. Required Experience: High school diploma or equivalent desired. Background in housekeeping or operating room environment preferred. Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) may be required.
