Overview:
The Optical Receptionist will be assisting the Clinic/Optical Manager/Director in every aspect of optical operations, including patient care and education.

Responsibilities:
Greets all patients with a smile and makes eye contact.

Acts as "Traffic Control" for optical to make sure patients are assisted in order of arrival. Determines patient needs and direct them to the appropriate optician.

Verifies Patient's insurance, address, phone, eye care history, eligibility, and makes changes as necessary.

Answers incoming phone calls. Provides friendly, accurate assistance to callers and takes messages as appropriate.

Assists patients when browsing for frame(s), if an optician is not available.

Pulls insurance authorizations for materials (frames, lenses, contacts)

Maintains a basic knowledge of products available and pricing

Demonstrate the ability to correctly adjust and repair patient frames.

Follows up with patients regarding orders with prior notifications but have yet to be picked up.

Accurately document all communications with patient by noting in patients file; including date and time along with a summary of the conversation.

Makes phone calls to ensure patients satisfaction.

Restocks supplies, frames and accessories as needed.

Accurately and timely completes all sales transaction. Performs daily cash procedures and close out.

Records cash, credit card, & checks on logs for daily deposits. Completes deposit slips and makes copies of all required items.

Performs all required scanning of paperwork into the correct drives no later than 9 am the following business day.

Encourages a team-oriented environment and follows company guidelines and policies.

Participates in on-going continuing education.

Performs any and all duties as reasonably assigned.

Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED. Some college preferred.

Minimum of 1+ years as receptionist
