Opening: Strategic Communications Coordinator Monterey, CA - Contract - Posted September 19, 2024 Summary CREEK TECHNOLOGIES is seeking a full-time, on-site Strategic Communications Coordinator in support of the Naval Postgraduate School (NPS) Center for Homeland Defense and Security (CHDS), located in Monterey, California. The successful candidate will possess the requisite knowledge of strategic communications and coordination to help with marketing, recruiting, and alumni relations and must be willing to travel for recruitment purposes, including attending and presenting at conferences, workshops, and networking events. Responsibilities
• Support center-wide initiatives such as data calls and talking points for public-facing events.
• Serve as a contact for prospective applicants, providing information, responding to questions, and assisting with initial contact to determine qualification and interest levels.
• Promote CHDS programs and resources at conferences, workshops, and networking events.
• Conduct marketing and recruitment research to assist the StratCom team in developing strategies, including electronic and other digital outreach methods.
• Provide support for all CHDS alumni-related activities.
• Manage CHDS social media accounts to maintain and enhance our online presence and relevancy, and cull alumni accounts for the Weekly Digest.
• Perform copy editing for articles, press releases, and online promotional material.
• Develop and maintain a comprehensive database of agencies, applicants, and education and training POCs.
• Serve as a resource for recruitment and marketing policies, procedures, and practices, referring the above information to alumni, mentors, and other staff as appropriate.
• Handle and prioritize multiple administrative duties, including managing the StratCom calendar, with independent judgment and initiative.
• Assist other teams with various marketing and outreach efforts as needed. Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree or above required
• Ability to lift and move tables, conference materials, and other equipment as necessary during event setup. Education Bachelor's degree or above required Experience
• Preferred experience in strategic communications within first responder communities, executives, private sector, government, academia, or related fields Skills and Abilities
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences effectively.
• Strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships with various stakeholders.
• Detail-oriented and capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adjust strategies based on needs. Salary Range $70,000- $80,000 Anticipated Start Date October 1st
