Position Description:
Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Distribution Center Operations Manager to join our team at our Moreno Valley, CA facility. The Distribution Center Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the distribution center, ensuring efficient processes, optimal inventory management, and high levels of customer satisfaction. This role focuses on continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, reduce costs, and improve service quality.

Key Responsibilities:

Operational Leadership:

Manage day-to-day operations of the distribution center, including receiving, warehousing, and shipping activities.

Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.

Lean Process Optimization:

Implement Lean methodologies (5S, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping) to identify and eliminate process inefficiencies, reduce waste, and improve flow throughout the supply chain.

Continuous Improvement:

Identify opportunities for process improvements in operations and workflows.

Implement Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.

Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive operational excellence.

Responsible for ensuring compliance to certifications such as ISO 14001, C-TPAT and any new certification endeavors.

Team Management

Lead and develop a team of supervisors, associates, and support staff.

Conduct regular performance reviews and provide coaching and training to enhance team capabilities.

Inventory Management:

Oversee inventory control processes, ensuring accuracy and timely replenishment.Collaborate with supply chain and procurement teams to manage inventory levels effectively.

Customer Focus:

Maintain high standards of customer service and ensure timely order fulfillment.

Address customer inquiries and resolve issues related to distribution.

Budget Management:

Develop and manage the operational budget for the distribution center.

Monitor expenditures and implement cost-saving initiatives.

Collaboration:

Education:

Bachelor's degree in business administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field.

Experience:

5+ years of experience in distribution center operations, with at least 2 years in a management role.

Strong experience with Lean manufacturing or Lean distribution techniques; Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification preferred.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:

Excellent leadership and team management skills.

Proficient in warehouse management systems (WMS) and Microsoft Office Suite.

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Must possess excellent project management skills, including demonstrated ability to develop and manage to a project plan, establish priorities, work to deadlines and control a number of projects at various stages of work.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, employees are regularly required to:

Sit, walk and stand.

Talk or hear, both in person and by telephone

Use hands repetitively operate standard office equipment.

Reach with hands and arms; and lift up to 25 pounds.
