SUMMARY

Oakwood School is seeking a full time kindergarten assistant teacher from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm, Monday through Friday. This position is for the school year beginning in August 2024.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Support classroom teacher with group and individual instruction

Plan, supervise, and implement the afterschool curriculum

Supervise indoor and outdoor activities

Demonstrate patience, respect, and a commitment to families and children

Participate in all school events

Help maintain classroom and school

Ability to be flexible, reliable, and punctual

Support and follow school policies and procedures

Be a positive and contributing member of the Oakwood community

Other duties as assigned

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

Passion to work with children and their families

Candidates must be willing to be trained in CPR and First Aid or currently certified

We are seeking people who are self-motivated, flexible, enthusiastic team players

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

24 ECE units required

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS

Ability to see, hear, and speak to exchange information in a proficient manner

Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and manipulate (lift, bend, carry, move) light to medium weights of 10-30 pounds

Ability to perform repetitive wrist/hand/finger movement

Ability to reach overhead and horizontally

Ability to work at a desk/computer for extended periods of time

Frequently required to sit, reach with hands and arms, talk and hear

Ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations on campus

Moderate to loud noise levels

Occasional to frequent interruptions

COMPENSATION

This position has an expected pay scale of $22.00-$27.00 an hour depending on prior experience, education, and job requirements.
