About You

Hello Nurse! We are seeking a skilled Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) with experience working in a treatment environment supporting individuals diagnosed with a chronic mental illness (ex: schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, bipolar disorder, depression, PTSD). As a Mental Health Nurse, you will be part of an amazing team of Behavioral Health Service Providers, Rehab Specialists, Therapists and Psychiatrists providing the highest level of outpatient treatment to this underserved population. To qualify for this position, you will need:

  • Full Vaccination against COVID-19 - CA required
  • Active CA nursing license (LVN)

  • Great attitude - required
  • Experience working in behavioral health or in residential care - preferred
  • Experience passing medications - desired

Your Responsibilities

Your role as a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) is to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team that includes psychiatrists, therapists, rehab specialists and direct care staff to assist clients who are stepping down from higher levels of care into an open residential setting. As an LVN, you will work directly with clients who have stepped down after successfully completing treatment in inpatient treatment settings. You will help clients further stabilize on and adhere to their medication regimen while helping teach coping skills to help prevent unnecessary hospitalizations and stabilize housing. The goal is to see clients through their individual recovery process and to celebrate graduations from treatment back to home counties, families, and friends. This position is not responsible for daily administration of PO meds. As an LVN you will be:
  • Keeping track of client's injection schedule and administering as scheduled
  • Providing medication education and support individually and in facilitated groups
  • Providing individual and group rehabilitation services
  • Providing case management
  • Conducting risk assessments
  • Providing crisis intervention services
  • Reviewing MARS weekly and monthly to review progress with clients
  • Participating in multidisciplinary team meetings weekly
  • Providing therapeutic support and redirection through verbal and non-verbal de-escalation techniques-we are not a "hands on" facility
  • Providing behavioral Interventions like properly setting boundaries and providing redirection and support
  • Providing at least 28 hours of face-to-face services per week
  • Documenting services daily using an electronic health record
  • Helping clients safely access the community

The pay range assigned to this role is based on the geographic location from which the role is performed. Starting pay is commensurate with relevant experience above the minimum requirements.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $33.00 - $39.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
