SUMMARY
The program therapist at CPI is responsible for performing advanced indirect and direct client care duties in support of the clinical process competently under the direction of the Executive Clinical Director for performing related functions. The Clinician provides general oversight of client clinical care and reports on all environmental needs as it relates to supporting clients, to the Program Director, Program Administrator, Executive Clinical Director and treatment team.

Age of Client Population Served: Adult (18 & older)
Population Served: Persons suffering from psychiatric disorders, outlined in the DSM5.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Facilitation of group sessions as scheduled
Facilitation of individual sessions with clients
Provides clinical family support and family sessions as indicated
Provides Educational Sessions to clients, families
Provide overall support to the treatment team and clients
Practice clinical services according to evidence-based theories, best practices, standards
of care, and according to Legal and Ethical frameworks in the state of California per the
Board of Behavioral Sciences/Board of Psychology, and ACA/APA/CAMFT
Client crisis management
Appropriately and timely provides required clinical and administrative documentation
Observe each client's behavior daily and intervene when necessary
Summarize each client's activities and behavior daily in Progress Notes
Ensures that the environment of care adheres to safe care of the clients adhering to
policies, procedures and standards of care
Attends Treatment Team Meetings
Performs other duties and tasks as required
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education, Training, and Experience Required:
Master's degree or Doctorate in Counseling Psychology or equivalent
California License in Professional Counseling, Social Work, Marriage and Family
Therapy, or a psychologist
Two (2) years' experience working in settings providing direct clinical services to
populations with serious mental illness/acute setting
Attainment of at least 18 years of age
A Criminal Background Clearance
A Health Screening with negative TB Test Results
Current Basic Life Support certification - First Aid
Current CPR certification
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of industry standards as related to the position.
Basic knowledge of PC software programs, particularly Microsoft Word and Excel is
preferred.
Written and oral communication skills; must be able to concentrate on work amid
distractions such as noise, conversations, and foot traffic.
Must be able to work independently with little supervision in an unstructured
environment with multiple demands.
Must maintain self-control in volatile or hostile situations such as if verbally or
physically confronted aggressively, must be experienced in de-escalation techniques
Must possess a reading and writing level that provides for clear expression and/or
understanding of assignments related to job description.
Ability to represent the program well in interactions both inside and outside the facility.
