Role Summary:
As the Localization Technical PM, you will manage the relationship between Rivian and our translation vendor(s), ensuring that content from several departments is localized with accuracy, quality, and smooth turnaround time.
Responsibilities:
Develop and manage a centralized Translation Memory database and associated company-wide guides (glossaries, style guides, etc.)
Institute Globalization Best Practices across organizations
Centralize translation activities across organizations
Research ways to automate the translation process, improving turnaround time
Negotiate translation vendor pricing and monitor spending
Monitor and optimize translation quality
Monitor and optimize translation speed to publish
Evaluate, qualify, and manage translation vendors
Manage more junior localization Project Managers and grow the team over time
Collaborate with Go To Market teams as the company enters new regions, defining a repeatable setup process
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in communications, technical writing, engineering, or technology, or equivalent job experience
5-7+ years of experience leading localization efforts for a mid to large size company in multiple regions
Experience leading a team as either project lead or people manager; experience building a team is a plus
Experience working with XML authoring tools, CMS, and Git; experience specifically in Madcap products and/or Contentful is a plus
Experience with content reuse and single sourcing
Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams such as technical publications, software engineering, marketing, service, and legal
Experience in creating processes to reduce complexity, cost, and human error
Ability to manage tasks and information flow using collaboration software such as JIRA, Confluence, SharePoint, etc.
Extremely detail oriented and organized
Proven ability to solve complex problems, work with ambiguity, and be self-motivated
Ability to work in a fast-paced and challenging work environment
Fluency in other languages is a plus
Pay Disclosure:
Salary Range/Hourly Rate for California Based Applicants: $78,700- $98,400 annually (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law).
Salary Range/Hourly Rate for Bay Area, California Based Applicants: $85,600 - $107,000 annually (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law).
