Senior Manager, Technical Accounting Please note this role can be made Remote in the United States or Canada for the right candidate. Job Summary We are seeking an enthusiastic, experienced, and dedicated professional to join our Technical Accounting group as a Senior Manager specializing in structuring unique partnership arrangements and joint ventures. The Technical Accounting group is responsible for establishing accounting for complex or unusual transactions, including business combinations, partnership structures, revenue recognition, stock-based compensation, hedging, and financial instruments. The group also develops, implements, and maintains global accounting policies. Responsibilities Innovate and Lead: Spearhead the structuring and evaluation of complex transactions from a technical accounting standpoint, focusing on innovative partnership and joint venture arrangements Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with various finance and business groups, including corporate development, treasury, tax, and legal, to enable and execute on new opportunities for business growth Strategic Guidance: Provide expert guidance on technical accounting matters, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and accurate representation of transactions in external reporting Stay Ahead: Keep abreast of emerging accounting issues and analyze their implications for Equinix's financial reporting Support Financial Reporting: Contribute to the external financial reporting process, including quarterly and annual SEC filings (Form 10-K and Form 10-Q), ensuring accuracy and compliance Compliance: Assist in SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley) compliance efforts related to technical accounting policies and financial reporting Research and Analysis: Conduct ad-hoc research and analysis on technical accounting topics as required Required Qualifications Minimum of 8 years of experience, including some experience at a Big 4 accounting firm professional practice or national office serving SEC clients and multi-nationals CPA certification (active or inactive); additional certifications (e.g., CFA) are a plus Must have a technical accounting background with significant experience in complex, judgemental consolidation assessments pursuant to ASC 810 Proven experience in researching and documenting complex accounting issues under U.S. GAAP and SEC regulations Ability to interpret transaction documents for accounting and disclosure implications Strong analytical skills, business acumen, and the ability to present/communicate complex issues effectively at all levels, including Executive presentations The United States targeted pay range for this position in the following location is / locations are: • San Francisco, CA / Bay Area: $128,000 to $211,000 per year
• California (Non-SF/Bay Area), Connecticut, Maryland, New York, New Jersey, Washington state: $119,000 to $196,000 per year
• Colorado, Nevada, Rhode Island: $108,000 to $178,000 per year Our pay ranges reflect the minimum and maximum target for new hire pay for the full-time position determined by role, level, and location. Individual pay is based on additional factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and/or training. This position may be offered in other locations. Your recruiter can share more about the specific pay range for your preferred location during the hiring process. The targeted pay range listed reflects the base pay only and does not include bonus, equity, or benefits. Employees are eligible for bonus, and equity may be offered depending on the position.
