Job description

Duties You will determine the extent of repairs and address needed work listing materials, parts and other items necessary to accomplish the work. You will accomplish work in accordance with job plans and schedules derived from projects assigned to codes. You will maintain, install, repair and weatherproof roofs and modify structures where necessary. You will observe safety rules to avoid injuries when lifting, climbing, handling materials or equipment, setting scaffolding or rigging. Requirements Conditions of Employment Must be a US Citizen. You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift. This position may require ability to obtain licenses for operation of Fork Lift, High Lift (JLG) and/or Construction equipment, upon notification. At times special certification, licensing, specialized tools/equipment may be required to perform the work. The applicant will be required to acquire any associated qualification requirements. Qualifications Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Repairing and maintaining roofs, masonry structures, flooring, and/or various surfaces. 2. Inspecting and repairing various disposal systems, high-pressure systems, electrical systems, HVAC systems, and/or climate control systems. 3. Determining the necessary tools (e.g. hammers, chisels, brushes, welding equipment, hand and/or power tools) and materials needed to accomplish assigned tasks. 4. Shift work may be required. PHYSICAL EFFORTS: Work is frequently performed from ladders, scaffolding, and platforms. Pushed, pulls, reaches, walks, stands, kneels, bends and works in cramped positions for a sustained period of time. Required to use hand and powered tools in some situations. Frequently lifts, carries, and sets up items weighting up to 50 pounds. Occasionally may lift items weighing over 50 pounds with assistance. WORKING CONDITIONS: Frequently exposed to slippery floors, scaffolding works, moving objects and sharp edges. Possibility of exposure to slips, falls, cuts, bruises, and noise. May work outside in various weather conditions and may be subject to dampness, rain and high and low temperatures.
