Job description

Position Description This position is that of a General Engineer assigned to the TECHREP Office in Tucson, AZ, Code D551700, physically located in Tucson, AZ. Candidate is a senior engineer with extensive missile development and acquisition experience. • Acts as technical authority and subject matter expert across related engineering fields for all technical matters in development, qualification, integration and transition to production. • Provides technical assessment, fact-finding and information reporting (written reports and presentations) throughout product life cycle. Technical (Roles and responsibilities include): • Support acquisition tasks for product development, fully knowledgeable in basic operational and system requirements and system performance. • Monitor development and production metrics (schedule, cost, technical) and exercise sound judgment and advises NAVY TechRep leadership concerning the accuracy, completeness and risk associated with the data. Reviews progress, resolves technical problems, and directs efforts through coordination with NAVY TechRep leadership. Includes integration of efforts between laboratories, prime contractor, and Program Offices. • Identify gaps in resources, available information, or deviation from performance to plan objectives, and recommend approaches for mitigating risk and resolving problems. • Assists with the development of technical process instructions, standard operating procedures and plans related to product development, production and in-service projects. • Performs as NAVY expert to lead timely review and approval of Engineering Change Proposals, and MAJOR and MINOR Deviations/Waivers, and Technical Review Teams. • Participates in joint Failure Investigation to identify root cause and recommend corrective action for failures in development, production or in-service. • Performs technical document review in support of the following: System Requirements Review (SRS), Preliminary Design Review (PDR), Critical Design Review (CDR), Software Reports, Mission Control Panel (MCP) and Mission Readiness Review (MRR). • Exercises leadership/mentorship/management of other engineers assigned to the projects. • Is the direct liaison with portfolio program managers, engineering Integrated Product Team Leads and other technical leaders at Raytheon Missiles & Defense (RMD). • Is the direct liaison to, and representative of, MDA and MDA Project Managers. • Participates in technical peer reviews. • Has accountability and responsibility for ensuring a safe, respectful work environment free from all types of harassment, including but not limited to, race, religion, disability, age, ethnicity, or orientation. • Works closely with the TechRep Chief Engineer and Director of Programs to understand and execute the strategic mission and vision of the organization. • Has accountability and responsibility for executing the TechRep Mission within the context of Acquisition Contractor Technical Oversight - all aspects of the relevant missile program (eg. Development of hardware, software, firmware and systems engineering solutions, all levels of systems testing, Engineering Change Proposal generation and shepherding, transition to production). Minimum Salary 86,962 Maximum Salary 134,435
