Job description

Position Description As a member of the F/A-18 IPT the incumbent will be responsible for scheduling, coordinating, monitoring, evaluating, and managing engineering projects and resources of F/A-18 Weapons Integration testing. The incumbent will need to have a working knowledge and or possess skills that will allow them to develop technically sound flight test plans and reports, develop testable scenarios, profiles, and procedures in order to use the data to produce flight test cards. A qualified FTE shall understand the airworthiness / flight clearance process, be able to develop and maintain test schedules for a flight test program, and assist in training junior FTE's. Additionally, the incumbent will work with the Weapon Systems Integration (WSI) Lead Test Engineer (LTE) and project officer in test plan development and flight test planning, facilitating data requests with Land Range Data Center (LRDC). The FTE will support technical engineering reviews, understand system requirements, learn the technical details of the F/A-18 Integration effort, and apply that knowledge to help execute a dynamic test program. The incumbent will actively participate in test planning of ground, laboratory, and flight test events to ensure the collection, analysis, and interpretation of data; and the reporting of test results. The ideal candidate will have engineering experience in flight test/ instrumentation systems or aircraft fire control systems, and must be familiar with the system engineering process. Investigate the results of scientific and/or engineering research, improve procedures and processes, and the development of new products and/or, procedures, or services. The Incumbent must be able to identify and analyze problems, evaluate alternative solutions, and make timely and effective recommendations based on findings for resolution. The incumbent will need to establish and maintain relationships with other government agencies and work with contractors on acquisition programs to assure that F/A-18 IPT requirements are met. Occasional travel is required to support flight test events, various program support meetings. Minimum Salary $101,121 Maximum Salary $156,323
