Job description
Duties You will be required to assist in cyber security risk assessments, physical security assessments, user awareness training, and develop accreditation documentation. You will work as part of a team, or alone, and be able to troubleshoot problems efficiently and effectively. You will install, setup, and sustain network routers and switches for LAN or WAN configurations. You will design network topologies, and install, setup, and sustain network switches for LAN or WAN configurations. Requirements Conditions of Employment Must be a US Citizen. This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. Qualifications DS-04: Your resume must demonstrate one year of information technology related experience in the federal service or private or public sector demonstrating the following four competencies, as defined: 1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. 2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. 3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. 4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-9/10 grade level or DS-3 pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate some or all of the following: 1) Demonstrating proficient knowledge inIT systems, plans, and functions; 2) Building desktop computer systems and servers, adjusting BIOS settings, driver installation and troubleshooting, and Windows/Unix/Linux shell commands; 3) Designing network topologies, and install, setup, and sustain network switches for LAN or WAN configurations; 4) Demonstrating knowledge of Linux (CentOS, Red Hat Enterprise) and Windows operating systems. DS-03: Your resume must demonstrate one year of information technology related experience in the federal service or private or public sector demonstrating the following four competencies, as defined: 1. Specialized experience must demonstrate some or all of the following: 1) Demonstrating knowledge inIT systems, plans, and functions; 2) Utilizing Microsoft Office, Word, and Excel; 3) Installing, setting up, and sustaining of network routers/switches for LAN or WAN configurations; 4) Demonstrating basic knowledge of Linux (CentOS, Red Hat Enterprise) and Windows operating systems. Education In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience: DS-03: Master's or equivalent graduate degree from an accredited or pre-accredited institution in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management; or, graduate education that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.OR2 full years (36 hours) of progressively higher graduate level education leading to a master's degree or equivalent graduate degree from an accredited or pre-accredited institution in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management; or, graduate education that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.
