Southern California Adolescent Dual Diagnosis Residential Treatment Psychiatrist Locums Job Starting ASAP Details/Requirements: Starts ASAP and ongoing for 10-15 hours a week to cover a caseload of 8 patients. Client has a PMNHP who covers the rest of the caseload. Need is to cover two 6 bed girls dual diagnosis residential treatment programs and one 6 bed boys dual diagnosis residential treatment program. The 3 houses are very close together. For the locum tenens services, it can be 100% remote tele health. Client uses a HIPAA compliant version of Zoom for tele health. Board Certified Child Psychiatrist is strongly preferred; however, will consider a board certified adult psychiatrist who s experienced with adolescents ages 12-17, but most patients are ages 14-17. Average daily census: Girls 10 (5 per program), Boys 5 ALOS: 45 days Hours: somewhat flexible as long as they're between 8am-5pm, M,W, Th, and Friday; however, Wednesdays are mandatory due to treatment team meetings on Wednesdays between 10am - 12 noon. Initial evaluations are 1 hour, follow ups are as much as 30 minutes but can be less for some patients depending on a patient s needs. Some patients are straight mental health with no substance use. Most patients have co-occurring disorders, substance abuse primary diagnosis with depression, anxiety, ADHD, etc. being secondary. Initial evaluations/assessments need to be completed within 48 hours of admission. No formal call, meaning all calls will be done remotely; the locum tenens doctor will never be called back in to see a patient while on call. The locum tenens doctor will receive an average of about 3 calls a week after scheduled hours. All calls are first triaged through the nursing staff before any calls go to the doctor.
