About this Role:
As a full-time Fielder Technician in the Design Estimating Department you will be expected to complete a variety of tasks efficiently and accurately after your completed training. These tasks include, but are not limited to: walking from pole to pole to complete field engineering, taking clear pictures of all angles of poles, carrying Hastings stick and being able to use it to accurately measure communication heights. Represent QUES and our clients at field meets, office meetings and public forums. Understanding, interpreting and explaining company proposed and approved plans. Notify co-workers of project status changes and follow-ups. Understanding and ensuring company project trackers are fully updated with fielding information. Always drive safely and be considerate of other drivers on the road. Maintaining company equipment and immediately notifying superiors of any issues. Often independently routing yourself to optimize assignments for each day. Communicate effectively and respectfully with all QUES employees, clients and associates. As your skills and experience grow in the company, you may be required to take on additional processes. You will be expected to maintain regular attendance and consistency in quality and quantity of work. Finally, you will be expected to conform to all QUES policies and procedures not listed herein.
What You'll Do:
Travel to commissioned worksites and survey utility structures to complete assigned projects.
Locate, field, and document detailed information of all aspects of the poles on the assigned route.
Measure attachment heights, structures dimensions and span distances.
Measure distances from existing/proposed OSP facilities.
Identify bonding and grounding requirements.
Adhere to safety practices and guidelines
Identify all possible safety hazards while out in the field.
Understand and strictly adhere to all quality requirements without deviation appointed by company and customer alike.
Communicate with team members daily.
Carrying all equipment out in the field- up to 40 pounds.
What You'll Bring:
Must have knowledge in California Public Utilities Commission, GO95 document accordingly.
Perform a visual & detailed collection of data and inventory of pad mounted equipment to include sizes and structures.
Perform field data collection utilizing approved collection materials to include laptop/iPad, gps and other electronic devices as necessary.
SafetyFollow all Safety protocols and practices established by company safety policies.
Possess a working knowledge of OSHA requirements to the induvial job responsibilities.
Responsible to maintain a safe and healthful place of work
Personal protective equipment must be used when and where required, and properly maintained.
Maintain a safe driving record
QualityResponsible for the quality of your individual work
Responsible for meeting the quality requirements as outlined per project working on.
Self-check all work and the work of others as assigned.

Compensation Range:
The anticipated compensation for this position is USD $32.00/Hr. - depending on experience and qualifications.
