UC Davis Rehabilitation Hospital is a free-standing post-acute inpatient rehabilitation hospital opeated jointly between UC Davis Health and Lifepoint Health. This new 58,000 square foot 52-bed hospital will be the first free-standing physical rehabilitation hospital in Sacramento. The facility will have all private rooms and focus on acute rehabilitation for patients who suffer from stroke, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, complex neurological disorders, orthopedic conditions, multiple trauma, amputation and other injuries or disorders. The large multidisciplinary therapy gymnasiums will be outfitted with the latest therapeutic technologies, including augmented reality balance training, therapy bionics and a full body exoskeleton. What you will do in this role: Processes referrals and coordinates admissions of all hospital patients in an efficient, responsive manner Coordinates the flow of information through the admissions process and forwards to appropriate departments for the successful completion of admission Completes Insurance Verification Form with benefit and billing information Contact patient's insurance to confirm and determine amount of coverage and benefits, deductible due, length of stay and if pre-certification is required Obtain Pre-certification for inpatient rehabilitation stay and document necessary information for case management to follow up once patient admits Benefits include Affordable medical, dental and vision plans provided to meet the needs of full employees and their families Up to 20 days of PTO for full time employees 6 paid holidays for full time employees Tuition reimbursement, continuing education opportunities and apprenticeship programs for eligible employees 401(k) retirement plan Flexible spending and health savings accounts UC Davis Rehabilitation Hospital provides ongoing care to patients in their recovery journey. Our hospital strives to maximize the health, function, and quality of life of those we serve through comprehensive physical medicine and rehabilitation programs. High School Diploma required. Some college preferred Minimum of 2 years' experience in Admitting and/or medical insurance preferred Experience in handling patient admissions preferred Extensive knowledge of insurance and their benefits and admitting forms Proficiency in recording admission reservations Basic computer knowledge including Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Word Salary range: $24.50 - $27.65 per hour. We would expect those hired into this job would be paid within this hourly rate, however, certain circumstances may allow us to pay outside of this hourly rate
