Job Overview:
Shriners Children's Northern California is looking for its next Manager, Financial Services to provide leadership, direction, advice and oversight in areas of financial operations at its Northern California location. Reporting directly to the Director of Fiscal Services, the Manager, Financial Services is involved in accounting functions, financial reporting and analysis, budget preparation and monitoring and revenue cycle efforts, grant reporting, and government reporting.

The pay range for this position is $(phone number removed)/year - $(phone number removed)/year. Compensation is determined based on relevant experience and department equity.

Responsibilities:
Responsible for assisting in financial oversight of day-to-day activities such as payroll, donations, accounts payable, operating budget monitoring. Also responsible for preparing and generating annual budgets, monthly financial statements, and monthly facility department variance analysis. Also may assist in improving revenue cycle functions such as admitting and registering patients, patient authorizations, billing and collections, working with third-party payers, and denials management.

Directs continuous improvement in organizational processes and services, using quality improvement processes and assessment tools to better identify and serve our patients and families throughout the revenue cycle and patient access process.

Relates well to people regardless of their organizational level, personality, or background. Understands the components of cultural competency as they apply to the workforce. Maintains an environment of fairness, capitalizes on generational differences to foster highly effective workgroups.

Retains staff by assessing staff satisfaction, develops and strategies to address satisfaction issues, promotes retention, and rewards and recognizes staff appropriately.

Oversees and manages revenue cycle and patient access staff. Ensures that process are efficient, corporate policies are followed, and that efficient scheduling and intake processes are in place.

Demonstrates mastery of unit/department-based budgeting, variance reporting and report.

Provides input into capital budget requests considering hospital strategic plan, as well as annual goals and objectives.

Understands the health insurance environment and leads team to capitalize on opportunities for good stewardship in managing fiscal resources.

Serves as chief liaison between revenue cycle and clinical departments to ensure transparent sharing of data and results.

Qualifications:
Education
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or Healthcare related field is required.

Master's degree in Healthcare Administration or Business Administration or equivalent work experience preferred.

Experience
5 years of management/supervisory experience in a healthcare setting required (Pediatrics preferred).
Preparing and leading annual budget process and performing accounting duties such as journal entries, A/P, financial statement preparation.

Ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines and priorities in a fast-paced, ever changing work environment.

Experience working within Epic EHR and Billing system preferred.

Skills

Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Strong analytical, problem solving, and leadership skills.

Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
