PRIMARY FUNCTION

Provide overall supervision and direction of the preconstruction and construction efforts on projects assigned by immediate supervisor. Accurately and fully inform immediate supervisor of each project's overall status. Build strong project teams, assuring proper staffing for projects to assure project success. Develop new business opportunities relative to client, group of clients, or type of projects. Must have experience managing projects in process, mechanical or industrial.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Ensure Murray Company safety program is followed (including compliance with Murray Work Plan Policy) and safety culture is maximized including participation on the Safety Committee and Strategic Planning Committees. Observe teams for safety deficiencies and suggest safety priorities.

Plan, organize and staff project management and field engineer positions through corporate department heads. Ensure adequate staff resources are assigned and demobilized in a timely manner as required to balance cost with work load including directly managing projects if required. Assure staff has appropriate onsite presence. Assist teams to coordinate field supervision choices with General Superintendents.

Establish project objectives, policies, procedures, and performance standards within boundaries of Murray Company programs. This includes reviewing all project incentives, team building expenses and rewards such as safety gifts with Project Managers. Share and coordinate project efforts with other Project Executives to assure employees on small and large jobs are treated evenly and receive the same opportunities.

Initiate and maintain relationships with client and A/E contacts to facilitate pre-construction and construction activities as well as promote future opportunities. Promote Company Mission Statement.

Oversee overall quality of work performed and assist project teams to report quality issues. Participate in quality standards management with QAQC Manager such as attending QAQC committee meetings, contributing to QAQC alerts, etc.

QUALIFICATIONS:

10+ years of experience managing projects in process, industrial or mechanical, 15+ years preferred

Bachelor's degree is Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering or similar, Construction Management preferred

Experience in building a leading successful project teams

Previous experience managing teams of 10 or more

Experience managing multiple $20M+ process mechanical projects

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk

Must be able to lift to 15 pounds at times

Must be able to climb ladders, access and egress trenches and/or attic spaces and/or confined spaces

Must be able to traverse uneven ground and climb stairs to access job-site offices/trailers
