Job Title: Business Analyst with Data Science Knowledge
Location: San Diego, CA (Hybrid - 2 days on-site, 3 days remote)

Position Overview We are seeking a skilled Business Analyst with a strong foundation in data science to join our team. This role will support key defense projects by analyzing data, gathering requirements, and driving data-driven recommendations. The ideal candidate will be adept at bridging the gap between business needs and technical solutions, working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver impactful insights. Key Responsibilities Requirements Gathering: Engage with stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document business and technical requirements.
Data Analysis and Modeling: Use data science techniques (e.g., statistical analysis, machine learning) to analyze data sets, uncover trends, and develop predictive insights to support business objectives.
Reporting and Visualization: Create reports, dashboards, and data visualizations to present findings and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement, based on data insights and stakeholder feedback, to drive operational efficiency and enhance project outcomes.
Collaboration: Work closely with data scientists, software engineers, and project managers to translate business requirements into technical specifications and support the development of scalable solutions.
Documentation: Prepare detailed documentation for project requirements, data analysis, and recommended solutions, ensuring all documentation complies with DoD standards.
Required Qualifications Clearance: Active DoD Secret Clearance.
Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field.
Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in a business analyst role, with some exposure to data science principles.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Python, R, SQL)
Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI)
Knowledge of machine learning concepts and algorithms
Analytical Skills: Strong analytical mindset, with the ability to interpret complex data and make actionable recommendations.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present findings to diverse audiences.
Interpersonal Skills: Ability to work effectively in a hybrid work environment and build relationships with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications Advanced Degree: Master's degree in Data Science, Business Analytics, or a related field.
Certifications: Certifications in business analysis (CBAP, CCBA) or data science (Data Science Professional Certificate).
Experience in Defense Industry: Prior experience supporting DoD or other federal government projects.
