INDUS supports the planning, coordination, and installation activities of Combat System and Command, Control, Communications, Computer, and Intelligence (C5I) Systems in aircraft carriers, and other strike group or strike force units (including but not limited to LHA, LHD, LPD, and other L-Class units). Our team is directly responsible for supporting the planning, budgeting, and execution of New Construction (SCN) testing and modernization efforts on Amphibious ship Combat Systems for Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC), Port Hueneme Division (PHD), Ship Defense and Expeditionary Warfare Department, Amphibious Combat Systems. Reporting to the Program Manager, the Combat Systems Test Director (CSTD) provides test direction and technical support to the CVN Modernization Branch (N65) of the Modernization and Installation Department (N Department), Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC), Port Hueneme Division (PHD) on the CVN/L-Class Support Services contract. There are two openings for this role - one position is located in San Diego, CA and one is located in Norfolk, VA. What You'll Do Investigate and provide technical solutions and recommendations to Carrier Strike Group (CSG) and Expeditionary Strike Group (ESG) C5I interoperability & integration issues discovered during Deploying Group Systems Integration Testing (DGSIT) and post availability Combat Systems Light Off/Sea Trials. Serve as technical lead for resolving C5I systems interoperability issues discovered during Consolidated Software Deliveries (CSD) and C5I Readiness Assessments (C5RA). Provide technical support for Combat System Interface Diagram (CSID) development, Combat System Operability Manual (CSOM)/ Overall Combat System Operability Test (OCSOT), Combat System Operability Test, (CSOT), and Board of Inspection and Survey (INSURV) inspections. Work closely with various systems engineers from NSWC PHD, NAVWARSYSCOM, NAVAIRSYSCOM, NAVSEASYSCOM, and numerous PEOs to ensure that complex C5I interface and interoperability issues are fully understood, properly documented, and resolved or mitigated. Actively participate in training evolutions, demonstrations (in port/underway), presentations/briefs, and communications with Ship's Force personnel aboard Aircraft Carriers and Amphibious Ships in addition to other military and government organizations. Attend Combat Systems related meetings, briefings and conferences as required and research, route, analyze, and prepare responses to applicable messages and action items. Develop and deliver formal presentations and communicate with a broad spectrum of senior military and civilian personnel. Bid and proposal support if requested. Other duties as assigned. What We're Looking For Required Qualifications: An active secret clearance is required to be considered for this position. HS Diploma required. At least five (5) years systems engineering/combat systems integration experience OR a minimum of 15 years technical experience showing progressive advancement of roles/responsibilities. Must have experience with standard Combat Systems Engineering principles, theories, concepts, techniques, and systems integration aboard U.S. Navy Ships, specifically Aircraft Carriers and/or Amphibious Ships. Knowledge and experience of Aircraft Carrier and Amphibious Ship Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Combat and Intelligence (C5I) systems, installation process, and associated test procedures. Demonstrated ability to effectively plan workload and meet established deadlines. The individual must be able to clearly and concisely articulate technical subject matter both written and verbally. Ability to travel and work aboard ship. Strong writing and computer skills. Must possess basic computer literacy and data entry skills. Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (to include MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.). Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrated problem-solving skills. Must possess strong time management skills. Must be able to work in a fast-paced, changing, and challenging environment. Must be able to remain seated in a stationary position 50% of the time. Must also be able to alternate between sitting, standing, and walking. The work requires some physical exertion, such as long periods of standing, or recurring and considerable walking, stooping, bending, crouching, and climbing such as in performing regular shop activities, inspections, or to observe and study operations in an industrial or comparable work area or on-board submarines and in weapon facilities. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future. Desired Qualifications: Bachelor's degree from an accredited university is desired. Be comfortable presenting work progress and status presentations in meetings with Senior Program personnel. Excellent organizational skills and the ability to plan, coordinate and execute project activities on schedule. Possess strong self-initiative and ability to multi-task. Ability to work both independently and on a team in a highly dynamic and challenging environment. Ability to effectively brief senior level Navy personnel. Ability to read Installation Control Drawings (ICDs) and Ship installations Drawings (SIDs). Experience with maintenance, operation, testing and training of radars, navigation, and integrated systems (ex. SPS-48, SPS-73). INDUS aims to provide a competitive compensation package, including a strong pay for performance rewards approach. The expected base pay range for this position is $80,000. - $110,000. The pay range for this role considers job-related knowledge, skills, work location, education and training, and certifications.
