Description & Requirements We are currently seeking a motivated Systems Engineer - CVN Auxiliary with an active Secret clearance to join our team in San Diego, CA. This is an On-Site position. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Document and maintain the material condition and war-fighting readiness of all aircraft carriers assigned to Commander Naval Pacific (CNAP) Assist with UNREP (Underway Replenishment) equipment overhaul during maintenance availabilities and manage and schedule hull cleanings Advise the Navy Fleet of safety concerns and maintain a budget for maintenance activities Interface with NAVSEA/NAVAIR, Type Commanders, shipyard facilities, various program managers, contractors, and ship's force Document aircraft carrier deficiencies and repairs within maintenance availabilities Perform specialized engineering services for the development, implementation, and assessment of Force Naval Engineer/Naval Engineering Programs Manager Projects Manage, coordinate, and resolve issues from all Aircraft Carrier Life Cycle oriented working groups, including Life Cycle Maintenance Group (LCMG) and Program Related Equipment/Program Related Logistics (PRE/PRL) Maintain records for Departure from Specification (DFS) programs and provide recommendations for adjudication Serve as the primary CNAP point of contact for all aspects of Underwater Ship Husbandry, including scheduling inspections and hull cleaning Review ship QA programs and manuals to ensure compliance with standard procedures and recommend changes to improve quality assurance processes Participate in Carrier Team One initiatives and other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or Graduate Equivalent Degree (GED) 8+ years of nuclear experience onboard aircraft carriers (CVN) 8+ years of system experience in main propulsion, auxiliary, electrical, and damage control systems 5+ years of experience communicating and interfacing with senior Navy personnel regularly 3+ years of experience as a manager/leader in a Navy environment 3+ years of experience communicating both orally and in writing, with background experience in database management Willingness to travel within the continental United States (CONUS) and outside the continental United States (OCONUS) for testing and evaluation (up to 20%) Preferred Qualifications: Experience using Electronic Forms (eFORMS), including eDFS, eARRTS, SPAR, and LAR Ability to analyze and evaluate Current Ships Maintenance Projects (CSMP) and review jobs Background in Quality Assurance (QA) Familiarity with shipboard operations and procedures Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment Clearance Requirements: Must be a U.S. citizen and have an active Secret clearance, or an Interim to Start is acceptable. Physical Requirements: Ability to remain stationary for 50% of the time. Occasional movement within the office for communication and accessing resources. The projected compensation range for this position is $73,500.00-$122,600.00. There are differentiating factors that can impact a final salary/hourly rate, including, but not limited to, Contract Wage Determination, relevant work experience, skills and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location (For Remote Opportunities), education and certifications as well as Federal Government Contract Labor categories.
