Technica Corporation is seeking a highly motivated, dynamic, self-directed individual to fill the role of Director, Business Development & Capture Navy to identify and collaborate with the U.S. Navy and related DoD cyberspace stakeholders. This position is responsible for identifying and shaping near-term and longer-term opportunities, with a focus on OTA's and other non-traditional RFP options. The successful candidate will use their extensive relationships within the U.S. Navy, specifically Naval Information Warfare Command (NAVWAR), to quickly expand business through a robust, achievable pipeline. Key Responsibilities Utilize your extensive knowledge of government contracting and acquisition practices to direct business development activities within the U.S. Navy.
Develop and execute customer penetration strategies and individual opportunity win strategies, account plans, and partnering strategies to achieve aggressive business growth within 2-3 years.
Generate and maintain extensive knowledge of current developments in the U.S. Navy and related DoD Cyber offices in order to assess current and upcoming needs and to identify and qualify opportunities.
Gather actionable market intelligence through researching prospective accounts in target markets.
Develop leads and move them through the sales cycle.
Provide feedback and recommendations to our Innovations R&D organization on AIOps and Cyber Operations Capability and Services development and refinement based on identified requirements in target markets.
Capture complex services contracts meeting or exceeding financial targets.
Develop value propositions through program strategies, supporting business cases and project plans.
Develop early win strategies and evolve the strategy throughout the capture lifecycle.
Strengthen key vendor, supplier and partner alliances and bring new products/solutions capability into the company's portfolio.
Maintain and foster territory relationships with key partners and OEM manufacturers.
Write complete and concise competitive bid analyses for executive management review.
This position will require travel of 10-20%. The position can support remote and a hybrid work schedule. The annual base salary range for this position in California is $170,000 - $235,000. Please note salary information is a general guideline only. Technica considers multiple factors such as responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer. Requirements
Bachelor's degree in finance, marketing, business, or related field, and/or equivalent education and experience
16 years overall experience
Proven track record of contract wins that met and/or exceeded revenue targets
Knowledge of DoD AIOps and Cyber programs
Knowledge and experience with DoD and U.S. Navy procurement and contracting processes
Proven ability to build and maintain excellent relationships with U.S. Navy clients
Demonstrated excellent organizational skills with the ability to work on multiple projects of varying complexity simultaneously
Experience as an Acquisition Professional Member within the Department of the Navy
Desired
Direct U.S. Navy military experience in AIOps and cyber warfare mission related organizations
7+ years of business development experience
Proven ability to utilize critical thinking skills required to identify/shape opportunities and develop value propositions
Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact with all levels of personnel internally and with clients - executive management, management, technical and administrative.
Experience working as a Business Development Executive
Experience working in a Shipley-based or other structured capture environment.
Experience working the entire capture process- to include team building, developing win themes, procurement influence, and strategic positioning
Experience with engineering services level of effort determination, competitive analysis, and project pricing-to-win
New business wins in excess of $50M Total Contract Value
Multiple OTA and non-RFP contract wins
Active DoD Secret Security Clearance
