Job description
Duties You will identify, prepare, review and maintain educational materials and information resources to be utilized in the DDRC (Drug Demand Reduction Coordinator) programs. You will disseminate educational materials to the above-identified personnel and actively market the DDRC (Drug Demand Reduction Coordinator) program. You will ensure the smooth operation of the urinalysis program in installation-supported commands. You will provide prevention education on drug misuse to Marines and other installation-supported military and civilian personnel. You will organize and prepare monthly drug testing reports. You will maintain liaison with the drug testing lab to assist with the reduction of discrepancies associated with the urinalysis program when applicable. You will conduct ongoing needs assessments of the local military and civilian communities, for their drug abuse situation and drug prevention needs. Requirements Conditions of Employment Must be a US Citizen. Must be determined suitable for federal employment. Must participate in the direct deposit pay program. Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service. Work is mostly sedentary in nature. Some walking, standing, bending and carrying items to about 40 pounds is required. You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final Secret security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal. You must be willing and able to obtain and maintain a valid state driver's license. Qualifications GS-11: In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Providing technical oversight and expertise regarding education awareness and prevention on illegal drugs and alcohol abuse to include; conducting urinalysis testing and training; conducting random inspections of drug testing sites and associated policy and procedures; AND conducting a drug education program. GS-09: In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Assisting with gathering and providing technical expertise regarding education awareness and prevention on illegal drugs and alcohol abuse to include; conducting urinalysis testing and training; conducting random inspections of drug testing sites and associated policy and procedures; AND conducting a drug education program. Education Applicants must meet the following basic/positive education qualification requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Applicants must possess : Degree : behavioral or social science; or related disciplines appropriate to the position. OR Combination of education and experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. OR Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. In lieu of specialized experience , you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience: Applicants may substitute the following education for the required specialized experience, provided it demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to do the work of the position: Successful completion of a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree in a related discipline appropriate to the position OR Successful completion of 3 years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. degree.
