Epsilon Systems Solutions, Inc. is seeking a full-time Marine Machinery Mechanic II in San Diego, CA. Job Summary: The position will under immediate supervision, provide mechanical support for the for the repair and/or overhaul of NULKA, SRBOC and SVTT launchers. Duties and Responsibilities: Support shop launcher technicians as required to include assisting in rigging, disassembly, reassembly, and inspection of mechanical and electrical equipment, systems, and components.
Assembles, disassemble and installs equipment and associated components using hand tools and power tools.
Disassemble, assemble, test, and troubleshoot pneumatic lines and valves.
Disassemble, assemble, test, and troubleshoot hydraulic lines and valves.
Perform basic wiring connections utilizing solder or basic crimp connectors.
Understands and follows standard and specified safety procedures and operating procedures.
Attaches moving parts and subassemblies to basic assembly unit.
Assembles and installs equipment using hand tools and power tools.
Supports shop launcher technicians in the rigging, disassembly, reassembly and inspection of mechanical, minor electrical, equipment and components.
Meets all shop requirements for cleaning up tools, parts, workstations and floors from any trash and Hazardous Waste in accordance with shop standards.
Places all Hazardous Material not being disposed of as waste back into the proper storage lockers
Assists in the removal and installation of the items onboard ship as required.
Assists with Ship-to-Shop items being delivered for processing; pick up of finished products.
Moves machinery and equipment, using hoists, dollies, rollers, and trucks.
Provides input and assists with process improvement procedures Required Qualifications: High School diploma or equivalent
Minimum 4 years' experience
Proficient in the use of basic hand and power tools
Navy rates; GM/CTT/MM/EN/GSM or equivalent industry marine machinery mechanic background preferred
Navy/ship/IMA repair experience
Ability to use power tools and have the ability to wear a respirator
Ability to read blueprints, technical manuals, and repair standards
Ability assist in operational testing, removals/installations, alignments, assembly/disassembly and equipment inspections
Ability to obtain and maintain an active DOD Secret security clearance
Obtain 301 Craftsman qualification ADA Notations: Requires walking, standing, climbing stairs, visual skills and manual dexterity.
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
