Kleinfelder Construction Services is seeking a full-time Project Manager with transportation construction management experience to work with a growing and thriving team of professionals in our San Diego office. The Project Manager candidate will take on a leadership role within the San Diego based construction management team, working to provide engineering solutions to both State and local municipal clients within the San Diego county area. The chosen candidate will coordinate with engineers, project managers, clients and other disciplines to deliver exceptional services on schedule and on budget. In addition to Project Delivery, this Project Manager will prepare technical / project scoping activities, lead in the preparation of RFP / SOQ submittals, be responsible for proposal / pricing presentations and lead in Business Development activities with targeted clients.

Key Responsibilities:
Project Leadership: Oversee and manage construction projects from conception through completion, ensuring timely, within-scope, and on-budget delivery.
Scope and Budget Management: Define project scopes, develop and manage project budgets, and create comprehensive project plans.
Team Coordination: Supervise Resident Engineers and Inspectors, assigning tasks to maximize efficiency and performance.
Quality Control: Conduct quality control reviews of project deliverables.
Progress Tracking: Monitor project schedules and proactively address any emerging issues to avoid delays.
Client and Stakeholder Communication: Maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including engineers, architects, contractors, and clients, ensuring clear, professional communication.
Client Management: Oversee client relationships and manage task orders, ensuring their needs are met throughout the project lifecycle.
Reporting: Prepare and present internal and external reports on project status, keeping stakeholders informed of progress and potential challenges.
Collaboration and Problem Solving: Foster a collaborative work environment, make effective decisions on in-progress work, and resolve field issues as they arise.
Agency Coordination: Coordinate effectively with various agencies and departments.
Technical Knowledge: Demonstrate expertise in civil components such as earthwork, grading, drainage, AC and PCC pavement, traffic control, SWPPP measures, signage, and utility coordination.
Plans Interpretation: Proficiently interpret plans and specifications, with preferred knowledge of Caltrans construction practices.
Required Qualifications:
Education and Licensure: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering and a California Professional Engineer's license.
Experience: A minimum of 10 years of progressive construction management experience, advancing from inspection and office engineering to Resident Engineering, and at least 2 years as a Resident Engineer or Project Manager.
Technical Proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word and Excel, with strong project management software knowledge.
Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, coupled with superior organization and problem-solving abilities.
Personal Attributes: Proactive, personable, and eager to learn, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with developing and reviewing Critical Path Method (CPM) schedules.
Familiarity with Caltrans construction and administrative practices.
Prior experience on construction projects ranging from $1 million to $30 million.

The expected salary range for the position is displayed in accordance with the California Pay Transparency Law. Final agreed upon compensation is based upon individual qualifications and experience. Salary range: $146,087-$229,289.
