Summary You will serve as a SIGN PAINTER SUPERVISOR in the Navy Personnel Command (NAVPERSCOM) Corrections and Programs Office (PERS-00D) of NAVAL CONSOLIDATED BRIG MIRAMAR. Duties You will serve as the training coordinator for the graphic design apprenticeship program. You will design, lay out and decorate signs, execute freehand and mechanical lettering, perform silkscreen printing and apply reflective sheeting and lettering w/machines. You will organize staffs, leads, and control a vocational workshop in a corrections environment. You will prepare and manage work projects and assignments, schedules shifts and sequences of operations, and assign prisoners signs making, sign painting and related task. You will ensure all staff and prisoners adhere to safety standards, command policies and procedures. You will operate and supervise the operation of computers and software supporting the graphical design of products and training requirement of a Sign Shop. You will determine the steps required and complete projects using standard trade practices. Requirements Conditions of Employment Must be a US Citizen. Work requires completion of apprenticeship or equivalent in the sign painting and sign making trade, plus at least twos progressive and responsible experience in one or more like trades. Qualifications Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time. Training, supervising and evaluating a diverse group of people, (e.g., prisoners), working under instruction;
Instructing post-trial individuals, (e.g., prisoners), in the use of hardware and software commensurate with graphic design industry standards);

Performance Level (FPL) and if determined to be Best Qualified at the FPL, and selected, must be placed at the FPL.
